Acer UK has this morning announced the renewal of its partnership with Esports Wales, the national body for esports in Wales, reinforcing its commitment to supporting grassroots competitive gaming.
The renewed partnership will see Acer Nitro 5 laptops used in Esports Wales’ workshops across Caerphilly and Newport, enabling players to refine their abilities while exploring careers in streaming, production, and game development.
The Nitro 5 laptops boast high-performance processors, graphics cards and fast refresh rates.
Esports Wales first partnered with Acer for industry workshops in March 2024.
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Esports Wales and continue supporting their mission to elevate esports in Wales,” said Paul Buck, Senior Partner Manager at Acer UK. “Acer is deeply invested in the growth of competitive gaming at all levels, and by equipping Esports Wales with our Nitro 5 laptops, we’re helping to bridge the gap between amateur and professional play.”
John Jackson, CEO at Esports Wales, added:
“Acer has been an invaluable partner, and renewing this collaboration ensures that our participants continue to train on top-tier hardware. Access to reliable, high-performance equipment is critical for skill development, and Acer’s support helps us deliver world-class opportunities to the Welsh esports community.”

Leon Hollis of Esports Wales added: “Having Acer’s support means more gamers in Wales can access premium equipment, regardless of their personal setup at home. This levels the playing field and allows talent to shine.”
“As esports continues to grow in Wales, Acer UK remains committed to fostering innovation and accessibility in gaming,” according to a press release. This renewed partnership underscores Acer’s dedication to empowering players and creators at every stage of their journey.”
The news comes as Acer announced a limited-time offer to April 15th on the Nitro V 15 (ANV15-51) gaming laptop, with a £250 discount, slashing the price to £499.99 from £749.99 at Amazon UK.

It also comes after Acer introduced two new QD-OLED gaming monitors, the Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1, promising up to 4K resolution, refresh rates of up to 240Hz and response times of 0.03ms.
The Predator X32 X2 will be available in EMEA in August, starting at £999, while the Predator X27U X1 releases in EMEA in June, starting at £699.
