Monitor brand AGON by AOC is equipping Wiltshire College & University Centre with premium monitors for its new esports and digital media facility.
AGON by AOC, the top gaming monitor brand in terms of sales volume of gaming monitors with 144 Hz+ (IDC Research – Gaming Tracker Q1-Q3 2024), is equipping the facility in partnership with Centerprise/YoYoTech, a specialist esports arena solutions provider.
The cutting-edge installation features a 150-seater arena with broadcast capabilities, competitive gaming stations, and dedicated production spaces as part of the Tech Trowbridge project, a £2.5m initiative funded through the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Skills Improvement Fund.
AGON by AOC has equipped the facility with high-performance AOC GAMING displays and professional graphic monitors tailored to specific educational needs. The installation includes gaming monitors with high refresh rates for competitive areas, AOC U3 Graphic Pro monitors for design work, and dual-monitor setups for media studios.
Paul Butler, AOC Sales Director for the UK & Ireland, commented: “Esports is growing very big. This is something that now in education it’s becoming a lot more important to actually do it properly and do it right.
“Our partnership with YoYoTech at Wiltshire College demonstrates our commitment to supporting educational institutions with the right technology for their esports programs.”

Phil Lewis, Head of IT Services at Wiltshire College & University Centre, explained: “The Tech Trowbridge project is about improving local skills in digital and IT. The brief was to put together an esports facility. What we wanted to do there is create the games development area leading into a practice area for esports and then the gaming arena, but build into that production facilities as well.”
Owain Milford, Head of Faculty for Creative Arts, Media, and Performance, added: “We have got an arena that now has broadcast capabilities with four PTC cameras inside the theatre space. The facility also features 10 competitive gaming stations, 17 additional linked gaming stations in a separate area, and two dedicated shoutcasting rooms.”
The partnership highlights the growing importance of quality display technology in educational settings. Faculty have reported increased student engagement and attendance linked to the esports curriculum and professional-grade equipment.

Jeremy Bruty, Sales Director for Education from Centerprise/YoYoTech noted that the combination of high-performance PCs, monitors and peripherals creates an impressive learning environment that generates real passion among students.
Student feedback has been enthusiastic, with some describing the facility as “mind-blowing” and expressing appreciation for gaining experience with industry-level technology. The energy-efficient LED backlight technology of the AOC monitors also supports the college’s sustainability goals.
This successful implementation serves as a blueprint for similar educational esports facilities, furthering AGON by AOC’s mission to support gaming ecosystems while showcasing its premium display technology.
