Caedrel condemns ‘toxic’ Karmine Corp ultras over tweets involving Faker and Red Bull League of its Own

Caedrel joins Fnatic

UK League of Legends personality Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont has had enough of Karmine Corp ultras and their tweets about Red Bull League of its Own 2024.

The first League of its Own event took place in Berlin late last year, and was won by G2.

European team G2 beat South Korean powerhouse T1 in the final, in a fun showmatch.

However, there were some negative headlines, as some fans of French org Karmine Corp (KC, aka KCorp) booed T1 star player Faker.

While KC CEO Arthur Perticoz later came out to say the org would never encourage their fans to boo other teams, he did admit their have no control over them.

Now, there’s been tweets by some saying they’re planning to boo Faker again at this year’s event. While some have said this is a joke, Caedrel, who worked at last year’s event, isn’t having it.

The streamer, with more than 820,000 followers on Twitch, said: “Saying you want to boo Faker with 15,000 people is disgusting and unacceptable, and I stand by that those fans have absolutely no place in this esport so please shut the fuck up.

“I’m sick of these KC ultra fans tweeting or dming the most disgusting things to players who leave their organisation, casters who comment badly about the team, streamers who give their opinions or joke around, and even now one of the most inspirational figures in the game who is nothing but a role model to everyone else.”

“It’s gotten to the point where people are actually afraid to be honest about KC and that’s the sad reality. I was a huge fan of the KC community and even supported it where I could for years especially when they joined the LEC because of how much I thought they deserved it.

“[KC co-founder] Kameto has always been one of the nicest people I’ve ever spoken to and it’s just sad that a handful of the extreme side of the fanbase acts like this and misrepresents the real fans or fan opinions, by having disgusting behaviour.

“It’s getting way too out of hand, and I’m kinda done with people just avoiding the fact that it’s gotten this bad.”

Caedrel also responded to the below.

He continued: “Waking up every day to toxic and annoying tweets about me or my colleagues or other people in the industry by KC ultra fans is getting exhausting. Whether this tweet is a joke or not is completely irrelevant.

“Dms or direct tweets or comments at us, it’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before, and it’s all started since KC joined the LEC. You can enjoy ratioing or calling out that it’s a joke, but this is a constant daily trend and common sentiment among everyone that it’s just completely out of hand.

“If you could even see the amount of people in the industry that liked the initial tweet it would also be a bit eye opening, and I apologise if I’m the first one to directly call it out in this way, but I’m done with just ignoring them on the daily. People are actually afraid of speaking about KC these days and that’s far from healthy.”

Some Karmine Corp fans have gained a reputation for being overly passionate. They aren’t afraid to speak their mind, whether it’s KC fans arguing on social media, or being loud at live esports events.

At the 2024 Rocket League London Major recently, KC fans were chanting expletives at rival French team Gentle Mates.
