UK League of Legends personality Dan ‘Foxdrop’ Wyatt has spoken about his move into the esports education space with College of Esports.
He first created his YouTube channel over a decade ago, making League of Legends jungle guides, which earned him almost half a million subscribers.
Foxdrop, who is from Essex, then made his move into casting back in early 2017 and has worked on broadcasts including the ESL Premiership, LEC, EU Masters and NLC.
Now he’s been working part-time with the College of Esports university, which offers degrees in esports from its campus at the Lee Valley VeloPark in Stratford, London.
He told Esports News UK he was enjoying the role and dabbling in the world of education a lot.
Foxdrop said on Linkedin: “I’m a bit late in posting this seeing as the semester is almost over, but this year I extended my ventures into the gaming and esports educational space by becoming an associate lecturer at the College of Esports!
“This move has allowed me to help share my extensive industry experience with some fantastic and passionate students, while also learning the intricacies of the higher educational system.”

“I’m very grateful for my time spent here so far and keen to use the lessons learned to improve my existing freelance speaking and consultation work in the field.”
Stuart Kosters, Head of Esports and Undergraduate Programmes at the College of Esports, told Foxdrop: “It’s been fantastic to work alongside you and the team, and students highly value your knowledge and dedication to your craft. Thank you.”
Foxdrop also appeared in a recent podcast with the university’s esports brand, London Legion, talking about his background and working in esports to student Louis.
College of Esports is also partnered with the British Esports Federation.
Foxdrop is the latest esports personality to move into the education space.
In late 2022, fellow League of Legends streamer Rezone Games began lecturing for Belfast Metropolitan College’s esports foundation degree.
And League of Legends coach Rhys ‘Kybet’ Williams is also working as an esports lecturer, now at Staffordshire University.
As this area develops further, it looks like we’ll have more content creators and personalities taking their learnings into the lecture theatres to help inspire the next generation of games industry talent.
