British Street Fighter legend Benjamin ‘ProblemX‘ Simon has qualified for the top-tier Capcom Cup X.
He fought off high level competition at the Last Chance Qualifier and will now join his fellow British teammate at Mouz, EndingWalker, in the Capcom Cup X.
ProblemX swept aside American players Julio Fuentes and JB 2-1 and 3-1 respectively in the upper bracket, before falling to Punk 3-0 in the winners finals.
Not to be deterred by this setback, ProblemX defeated JB 3-0 in the losers final before seeking revenge on Punk with a 3-1 and 3-0 victory.

So it was X marks the spot for ProblemX to reach the Capcom Cup X.
The British fighting game veteran, selecting Blanka, played like a beast in the Last Chance Qualifier, and the community responded with a string of artwork to celebrate.

He now joins the world’s best players at the Capcom Cup X, the climax of the 2023 Capcom Pro Tour, which promises a total prize pool of over $2m. Whoever takes first place at the Capcom Cup X will take home the $1m grand prize.
The event is taking place in California and ends on Sunday February 25th 2024.
Other players at the finals will include AngryBird, Phenom, Mister Crimson, Travis Styles, Big Bird and many more.
The fighting game community (FGC) rallied around the British player to celebrate his qualification.
EndingWalker, who signed to Mouz earlier this year, said:
“If anyone deserved to qualify it was ProblemX, my teammate and mentor! Absolutely elated to hold the UK flag high with him in the cup, looking forward to the chaos that will ensue.”

A F0xy Grampa added: “The greatest player the UK has ever produced, congrats my brother. Proud of every legendary performance and always proud to be your friend. Well done winning the LCQ.”
SonicFox commented: “Problem X’s adjustments and reads were absolutely insane in that final match. I felt Punk succumbed to the pressure. That was insane all around though and immensely fun to watch.”
Punk said: “Was fun. Blanka has killed me all season – maybe should have used Luke a bit earlier, but I had fun and happy to do so well today, despite being so nervous all day, ggs ProblemX.”
ProblemX simply said on Twitter: “You can’t have Capcom Cup X without Problem X!”
A mighty list of legendary players had to come down to one name. From an incredibly stacked bracket and intense match after another, we have our #CCXLCQ qualifier!
