The International Federation of Esports Coaches (IFoEC) has announced its inaugural Esports Coaching and Performance Summit, set to take place later this year.
The IFoEC is a UK-based group focused on the professional development for coaches and staff in esports.
This is its debut summit, which is due to take place at the University of Northampton’s Waterside Campus from September 6th to 7th 2023.
The IFoEC announced the Esports Coaching and Performance Summit in a tweet a few days ago.

The blurb states: “A collaboration between IFoEC and the University of Northampton to deliver the world’s first summit dedicated to coaching and performance in esports.
“Connect with international esports professionals, organisations and academics as they unveil industry insights and the latest research into competing and enhancing performance at the highest level.
“Expect keynote presentations, panel talks, networking opportunities and access to state-of-the-art gaming facilities.”
The Esports Coaching and Performance Summit themes will be esports coaching, health and wellbeing, management, psychology and sustainability.
The IFoEC has promised more than 20 expert speakers from industry and academia, to be announced at a later date.
The IFoEC has worked with various esports organisations in the years it has been running. It previously teamed up with the University of Portsmouth for a planned esports coaching degree course, but unfortunately the uni said it did not meet the ‘expected threshold to make the course viable’, despite receiving more than 50 applications.
The Esports Coaching and Performance Summit will take place just over month prior to ESI London 2023, the broad annual B2B esports conference.
We’ll update this article with further details on the summit as they are announced.
