A ‘Save Pro Clubs’ campaign set up for EA to fix the Pro Clubs game mode in FIFA 23 is gaining traction on social media.
The campaign, started by 11v11 FIFA esports tournament brand Virtual Pro Gaming (VPG), has been viewed around half a million times in the space of around six hours.
Pro Clubs is a FIFA mode that allows players to create their own virtual pro to play with friends in a certain on-field position as part of the team.
VPG told Esports News UK that ‘Pro Clubs matchmaking isn’t working, and that it seems to be out of sync when sending and accepting invitations’. Players have also reported being disconnected from matches and are unable to play.
We understand the problems were fixed one month ago, but this lasted for around 24 hours until a new update broke it again – and exacerbated the issues. There’s a Twitch clip example of the problem here.
‘This is unacceptable’ – Save Pro Clubs campaign statement in full
The Save Pro Clubs campaign states: “Dear EA, it is unacceptable that customers who have purchased your product FIFA 23 are having their experience marred by a broken Pro Clubs mode which has been broken for over 30+ days.
“Despite customers attempting to contact EA to ask for a resolution, it appears that EA are not taking any steps to fix the issue and are instead prioritising other areas. This is an inadmissible situation as customers have paid for a service that they are not receiving.
“The issue has been added to the EA tracker, with no update and prioritising FUT packs over customers being unable to play.
“The same issue, that was once fixed, then in the next update it was broke again and made things 10x worse. The pro clubs loyal, passionate customers deserve answers, we are bigger than what you think, treat us with respect. We all buy your product for pro clubs only! Save Pro Clubs.”
Several players and members of the FIFA esports/gaming community have shared and shown their support for the ‘Save Pro Clubs’ initiative, including UK esports organisation SAF, football YouTuber Mark Goldbridge and more.
Goldbridge said: “Such a great platform completely neglected.”
SAF added: “Pro Clubs is an integral part of FIFA for many of us, it deserves to be fixed and looked into.”
