UK esports organisation Guild Esports have seen their Danish Fortnite player Anas ‘Anas’ El-Abd win the MrBeast Fortnite Extreme Survival Challenge.
The winner-takes-all tournament had a $1m top prize, with second place and below taking home nothing. Saying that, YouTuber MrBeast did give a chance for people to vote for an additional prize for second place (Russian player Tibbe), with the community voting for MrBeast to award them with a solitary taco.
The top 100,000 players were also awarded with a golden Beast Brella Umbrella.
Anas took the top place spot with 142,099 points after 15 games, some 1,500 more than Tibbe in second place and Dave 3l in third place.
MrBeast’s Extreme Survival Challenge island went live on December 13th 2022. Made by creator team Atlas Creative, the island hosted the challenge from December 17th.
It was a MrBeast-inspired experience, where players had to avoid hazards, collect coins and survive various challenges to earn ‘score’ before the time ran out.
Players were able to participate in as many matches as they want, with the score of their best match determining their placement following the conclusion of the challenge. The player with the highest score was, of course, Anas.
Anas said: “I’ve played Fortnite since season 5 when my friends got me into it. Playing for Guild Esports is very nice, they support me the best they can.
“Winning the MrBeast Challenge is one of my best accomplishments since playing Fortnite. Moving forward I will be focusing on tournaments with myself and Hen. We are doing pretty well playing together now, we are both good players and were both looking for a duo, so it makes sense to try it out.”
Jasmine Skee, CEO of Guild Esports, added: “Many congratulations to Anas, who has proven yet again that he is among the world’s best Fortnite players. We are delighted by his success, which underscores the exceptional talent within Guild’s teams. Winning tournaments, reaching ever-larger audiences and gaining new fans, supports our ongoing growth as a leading global esports organisation. We can’t wait to see how Anas and Hen get on in 2023 collaborating further and playing as a duo for Guild.”
Guild have seen other successes in Fortnite, with Guild winning their fifth major trophy as Fortnite player Hen took first place in the FNCS EU final earlier this year.
Players were also able to unlock the MrBeast Gaming Spray and MrBeast Survival Games Loading Screen.
MrBeast in-game skins and goodies have also been added to Fortnite, including a pickaxe, back bling, glider and backdrop wrap.

It’s not the first time Epic Games have added a well-known gaming influencer to Fortnite. Earlier this year, British YouTuber Ali-A received a Fortnite Icon Series Skin in-game with eight styles and various cosmetics.
