UK esports organisation Excel Esports have today announced Sony’s Inzone gaming gear brand as its official gaming headsets & monitor partner.
Established earlier this year, Inzone is Sony’s new gaming brand. The 12-month partnership will see Excel use Sony’s Inzone headsets and monitors when competing in esports.
Sony’s gaming brand and Excel will bring esports fans ‘truly elite gaming experiences, support the esports community and promote a culture of healthy esports competition,’ according to a press release.
The partnership will see collaboration both online and offline with unique experiences and content, with specific details for these to be revealed soon.
Inzone monitors boast high-resolution and high-dynamic range picture with 1ms GtG (Gray to Gray) response time, while Inzone headsets include360 spatial sound for gaming, and the flagship Inzone H9 headset has multiple noise cancelling microphones – with the same Dual Noise Sensor technology used in Sony’s 1000X series headphones.
Excel previously had a sponsorship deal with HyperX, which also produces audio products, but this deal ended back in April 2022.
“Sony has led innovation in gaming technology for years now, and that’s why we’re beyond excited to announce Sony’s Inzone as our official gaming headsets & monitor partner,” said Mark Carter, commercial director at Excel Esports. “With industry-leading noise cancellation technology, groundbreaking spatial audio features, and jaw-dropping displays, Sony’s Inzone products are engineered for victory, and we can’t wait to see how they will support our players in reaching new heights on the global stage.”
“Sony has been present in the gaming market for decades and as of recently started expanding into the professional PC and console gaming market with its Inzone headsets and monitors, which are engineered to elevate gamers’ ability to achieve victory,” said Adrian Price-Hunt, head of video and sound at Sony Europe. “Partnering with Excel, who are a leading esports team comprising incredibly talented individuals, offers a compelling platform for Sony to support and engage with the competitive gaming community.”
“As a team manager I understand the importance of our players having the best-in-class audio equipment in order to play at their best. With Sony’s Inzone H9 headset having multiple noise cancelling properties, and the Inzone M9 monitor offering superior image quality and super-fast response time, our Valorant players will have the tools to fully immerse themselves in the game and focus on getting that win!” said Kevin ‘Noizeeh’ Jaskiewicz, Valorant team manager at Excel Esports.
EE renews sponsorship with Excel Esports for three more years
The news comes a few days after EE announced it had extended its lead partnership with UK esports organisation Excel Esports until 2025 following three years of collaboration.
The extended three-year partnership will continue to see the EE brand featured on all kit worn by Excel’s League of Legends Championship (LEC), Valorant and FIFA teams.
EE will also continue to help Excel’s teams train at their HQ by providing connectivity.
EE’s three key ambitions for its partnership with Excel are:
- Inclusivity: nurture the next generation of women in gaming to help re-shape the industry for the better
- Culture: support gamers beyond the play occasion, making mental health support available to the gaming community
- Experience: elevate the gaming experience with products and services designed to open up the community to new audiences
Pete Jeavons, marketing communications director at EE, commented: “The gaming community continues to go from strength to strength in the UK and with our partners at Excel, we are excited to use our technology and networks to deliver new initiatives, experiences and services that will benefit this community – both at elite and grassroots level. We want to become the number one network for gaming in the UK and we believe our work with Excel will be fundamental in achieving this goal.”
Mark Carter, commercial director at Excel Esports, added: “It’s an honour to announce our three-year partnership extension with EE, making this one of the longest partnerships in esports history. Together, we understand the importance of creating ground-breaking initiatives and enabling opportunities to drive forward and support more inclusive gaming communities. We look forward to sharing more exciting details as we activate the partnership together.”
Since initially teaming up in 2020, EE and Excel have collaborated on a number of campaigns and initiatives including this year’s Connected Club Cup, which gave grassroots gamers from around the UK the chance to prove their FIFA skills in a national competition.
Back in March, EE and EXCEL collaborated on Ultimate Gamer, a six-hour Twitch stream that saw four famous faces including comedian Munya Chawawa and Excel’s former professional Fortnite player Jaden ‘Wolfiez’ Ashman, compete against each other across three separate games.
