A host of UK talent has been nominated for honours at the 2022 Esports Awards, including hosts, casters, coaches and more.
Today (October 27th 2022) the final list of finalists has been revealed. UK talent includes Vedius and hypoc (Esports Colour Caster of the Year), Caedrel and Gregan (Esports Desk Analyst of the Year), Yinsu Collins, James Banks, Lottie Van-Praag and Freya Spiers (Esports Host of the Year) and more.
Others include Pansy, Machine, Onset, Miles Ross and ODPixel (Esports Play By Play Caster of the Year). The full list of finalists in the on-air talent categories have been added to the full list of finalists at the bottom of this article.
Earlier in August, The University of Warwick were announced as a finalist in the Esports Collegiate Program of the Year award, and the uni’s head of esports Jack Fenton was nominated for Esports Collegiate Ambassador of the Year.
Warwick is the first UK university to be nominated for the collegiate award, among an otherwise all-American shortlist, and Jack is the first UK finalist for the collegiate ambassador award.
Jack Fenton, award nominee and head of esports at Warwick, said: “Warwick being named as a finalist for this international esports award is a breakthrough moment not just for us, but for the UK. It’s an honour to be the first UK University to be nominated for this prestigious award and to be able to play a significant role in the growth of UK esports. I am delighted that after five years of hard work the team are receiving the recognition they deserve.”
The University of Warwick was named UK’s Esports University of the Year for the fourth year in a row earlier this year.
UK cosplayers LittleJem and Anaelic have also been nominated for Esports Cosplay of the Year, as has Har_Fie, who is based in the UK.
Then, in the Esports Creative of the Year category, UK-based Tiago ‘Liquid Enigma’ Paixao has received a nomination among others.
These finalists join others who have already been announced, such as those in the Industry and Entertainment categories. For example, British esports journalists Adam Fitch and Richard Lewis are once again up for the Esports Journalist of the Year award.
The new finalists were announced by Parker ‘Interro’ Mackay, Yinsu Collins and Thom ‘Fdot’ Badinger as part of Esports Awards’ fourth Spotlight Show of the year. The show also featured a quiz where Valorant expert Yinsu and Rainbow 6 expert Interro went head-to-head to see who knows more about esports.

“It is such an honour to bring together so many talented individuals, organisations, and brands from across the globe and provide a platform for them to get the recognition and celebration that they deserve. I am so happy to see the massive amounts of growth in the creative categories this year and look forward to welcoming everyone to a night of excitement and celebration in Las Vegas in December,” said Michael Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards.
This year’s Esports Awards will be hosted at Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas on December 13th.
The Spotlight Show also played host to an interview with Jake Lucky, esports personality, interviewer, presenter, and reporter, who discussed Full Squad Gaming’s nomination for Content Group of the Year, an organisation he recently joined.

Dom is an award-winning writer and finalist of the Esports Journalist of the Year 2023 award. He graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 degree in Multi-Media Journalism in 2007.
As a long-time gamer having first picked up the NES controller in the late ’80s, he has written for a range of publications including GamesTM, Nintendo Official Magazine, industry publication MCV and others. He worked as head of content for the British Esports Federation up until February 2021, when he stepped back to work full-time on Esports News UK and offer esports consultancy and freelance services. Note: Dom still produces the British Esports newsletter on a freelance basis, so our coverage of British Esports is always kept simple – usually just covering the occasional press release – because of this conflict of interest.
