Update (October 24th 2022): UK esports organisation Endpoint have parted ways with Danish CSGO player Kjaerbye after almost five months.
They published a joint statement with Kjaerbye on their Twitter account today, saying Kjaerbye is leaving to attend to ‘some things in his personal life’.
Original article (June 8th 2022):
UK esports organisation Endpoint have made a landmark signing to their CSGO team.
They’ve brought on board Danish player Markus ‘Kjaerbye’ Kjaerbye, the youngest player to win a Major. He’s 24 now but was 18 years old when he won the ELeague Atlanta Major with Astralis in January 2017.
Kjaerbye announced his retirement last summer but told Dexerto’s Luís Mira in April 2022 that he’s coming out of retirement, after a stint with FaZe Clan.
He spoke about feeling burnt out and that perhaps his decision at the time was not the right one, and that he still has a hunger to compete in CS. Kjaerbye has since placed a stronger focus on his physical and mental wellbeing.
Now he’s joined a UK esports org as he looks to revitalise his career.
“I’m delighted to say I have found the ideal place to pick up my rifle again with Endpoint,” said Kjaerbye on the Endpoint website.
“The people behind Endpoint and the culture they have created have again and again shown they have the structures to allow players to maximise their potential, which is exactly what I’m looking for.”
Endpoint CEO Adam Jessop added: “It’s a truly exciting prospect to be able to bring Markus into the Endpoint CS team. There is no denying the caliber of talent and experience he will bring to the line-up.
“After having a number of conversations with Kjaerbye, I fully believe that he is as passionate and focused as ever, ready to continue his CS career again, and that we can help him along that journey. His renewed focus on physical and mental wellbeing resonates with our own objectives and was a key factor in the decision for both parties.”

Kjaerbye joins UK players Surreal and MiGHTYMAX on the Endpoint CSGO roster, as well as Dutch player CRUC1AL and Israeli player Nertz.
The news comes after Danish coach Rekin recently joined Endpoint, and ahead of the org’s participation in the ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference.
It also comes as Endpoint announced a new content creator, Rocket League streamer Pickapixel, who we interviewed last year here.
