UK esports organisation MNM Gaming will be joining fellow UK org Wolves Esports at the Rainbow Six Berlin Major later this month.
MNM qualified for the Major after finishing third in Stage 2 of the 2022 European League (taking home €7,500), ahead of G2 Esports (€6,000) and behind Rogue (€10,000).
MNM co-founder Kalvin ‘KalKal’ Chung told Esports News UK: “It’s amazing to make it to our first major, and I’m incredibly proud of all the players and staff. It’s the neLo effect.”
Update: MNM Gaming are hosting their first Rainbow Six Siege bootcamp at Excel Esports London office to prepare for the Berlin Major.
Excel CEO Wouter Sleijffers said: “Excel is pleased to host the MNM Gaming R6 team in XLHQ for their bootcamp. Officially opened in May with a smashing party, XL HQ is a place for the British esports community, our partners and also professional esports teams that need state-of-the-art facilities to prepare under optimal conditions.”
Excel’s new London HQ opened earlier this year.
Wolves win European League and head to the Major
Wolves Esports finished top of the European League, taking the €15,000 top prize. They’re of course the esports arm of English Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
Those who finished outside of the Berlin Major spots included (in order from fifth to tenth) Heroic, Team BDS, Navi, Outsiders, Team Secret and Pwnz.
MNM, Wolves, Rogue and G2 join other teams in the Major: Astralis, Soniqs, Oxygen and Xset (all from the North American League), FaZe Clan, W7M Esports, NiP and Furia (from Copa Elite Six), Damwon Gaming and Sandbox (APAC League North) and Elevate and Gaimin Gladiators (APAC League South).
Looking at the groups at the 2022 Berlin Six Major, Rogue are in Group A with Damwon, NiP and XSET, while G2 are with FaZe, Sandbox and Soniqs in Group B.
Wolves are in Group C with Gaimin, Oxygen and W7M, and MNM are in Group D with Astralis, Elevate and Furia.
The Six Major runs from August 15th to 21st 2022.
Late last year, MNM qualified for the Siege European League and earlier this year MNM qualified for the Six Invitational, finishing 13th-16th.
MNM have three UK players (Yuzus, Tyrant and Neonical), Croatian player neLo and Turkish player Solotov, while Wolves have a mostly French roster (BiBoo, Mowwwgli, P4 and Shiinka) plus Belgian player risze.
MNM have been a UK esports success story in Siege over the years, having sold previous successful rosters to the likes of Navi, and having picked up wins in the Challenger League and more.
