The United Kingdom and France finished second and first respectively at the Overwatch World Cup Paris Group Stage last weekend.
In doing so, they have each secured a place in the top 8 at BlizzCon this November, which takes place in Anaheim, California.
All six teams participating in the final group stage last weekend – the UK France, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Poland – fought valiantly across three days of action in front of a passionate crowd.
With Italy unable to get the 4-0 against Germany, and our maths are correct. It’s now mathematically impossible for them to prevent either ourselves or France going to Blizzcon.

At the conclusion of matches in Paris, the draw for the BlizzCon quarter-finals took place, featuring the two best-ranked teams from each of the four Overwatch World Cup Group Stages. Here are the matchups:
- China vs Finland
- South Korea vs Australia
- USA vs UK
- France vs Canada
The final matches will be played on Friday November 2nd, with specific match times being announced soon.
During the 2017 Overwatch World Cup, Team UK made it to the quarter finals, where they were defeated 3-0 by Sweden.
