Red Bull Player One, a 1v1 League of Legends tournament, will make its debut appearance at The Sugar Club in Dublin this Saturday (May 5th).
Over 100 players from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland battled their way through the regional qualifiers to secure a place in this weekend’s National Final.
The winner will be crowned Ireland’s best solo player and have the opportunity to compete and represent their country at the International Final in Brazil this November.

Most players in the final are Platinum and Diamond level, though there are a few Golds and one Silver.

The final will be cast by Dawoud Dawoud (aka SandstormCasts), who cast the Esports News UK 1v1 LoL charity matches last year.

Organisers said in a statement: “Red Bull’s unique esports tournament, Player One, see’s opponents battle head-to-head on Summoner’s Rift, LoL’s most venerated map, demanding exceptional skill and reaction speeds from all players who set out to crush their opponents.
“Now, with only 12 players remaining, it’s all to play for as we aim to crown Ireland’s best League of Legends solo player this Saturday.
“Join us for a day of intense battles between Ireland’s best League of Legends players with some food, drink and entertainment thrown in for good measure. There will also be spot prizes for spectators on the day including gaming headsets, event T-shirts and Red Bull Cocktails.”
