Introducing eSports News UK

Esports News UK 1 1

So, what is this site all about and why is it here?

Well, you don’t need to be told how big eSports has grown over the past few years – you already know.
There are tons of general eSports news sites and sources out there, but there’s barely any coverage of the UK scene – that’s hopefully where we come in.
We’ll be writing news stories, match reports, interviews, previews and show roundups specifically around teams, players and events in the UK, as well as providing comment and the odd video here and there (and hopefully the occasional article for good old Rito).
At the moment, UK eSports is “dead” probably what Australia is to world football. We’re just not in that top bracket on a global level yet, but there are plenty of positive signs emerging. We have some seriously talented Street Fighter players from Problem X to Ryan Hart, more UK eSports tournaments from Dreamhack London to Multiplay Insomnia – and growing leagues like the ESL UK Premiership as well as Gfinity tournaments. KaSing has joined TSM. And let’s not forget all the other excellent League of Legends, Hearthstone, FIFA and Smite players to highlight a few.
Whether you’re a player, manager, caster, sponsor, tournament organiser or a fan, we want to hear from you. We want to write your story, cover your progress and give you an extra platform to shout about what you’re doing.
We’re predominantly focused on League of Legends, but hope to grow our coverage to a more comprehensive level across all the major eSports titles. That’s where you might come in – we are looking for writers (if interested, please send a brief email to us with a bit of info about yourself and why you want to write for eSports News UK, which games you prefer and an example of written work if you have some).
This site isn’t just going to focus on the biggest and the best of the UK either; we want to throw a spotlight on relatively unknown/emerging talent as well. We want to fly the flag for UK eSports and watch it grow.
So sign up to our email news alerts (using the box on the right-hand side of the ENUK homepage), follow us on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, and send us an email if you want ENUK to write about you.

Nice article, I agree the UK scene needs a lot more attention and an active up-to-date UK league for amateur/semi-pro skill level. We are predominantly CS:GO based at present and know of the SGL wanting to start back up but it never did get the support that it required/deserved. Let’s hope Blizzard doesn’t give up with that or someone comes in and creates a new era while it is ripe for the taking.
