AeroX eSports made a name for themselves at the Multiplay Insomnia56 LAN last month by beating Choke Gaming 2-0 in the League of Legends group stages.
Considering Choke had built a team featuring several top UK players with vast experience in the top half of the ESL UK Premiership table, and AeroX were from the lower-tier ESL UK Major Ladder, it was a shock win for AeroX.
While Choke did eventually progress from the losers bracket into the final, they found themselves facing AeroX again. The underdogs managed to win one game, but Choke were too strong in the end and secured a 3-1 victory. You can check out a nice review of the tournament from AeroX’s perspective here.
But there’s more to them than their giant-killing ability. To find out how they beat Choke and went on to take second place at i56, and what they think of the UK League of Legends scene (as well as their ambitions), we spoke to their mid-laner Daniel “Milkyard” Millard and coach/analyst John “Scotsman” Maccorquodale, as well as owner Oliver “Tazzz” Holloway.
Their League roster is as follows:
- Aviril – Top
- IOU – Jungle
- Milkyard- Mid
- Reacts- ADC
- Mute- Support
