Heavy metal band Spiritbox tease 2XKO and League of Legends collaboration

Spiritbox singer Courtney LaPlante has teased a new song in collaboration with League of Legends fighting game, 2XKO.

The Canadian heavy metal band have had a huge 2025 after the release of their second album “Tsunami Sea.”

Spiritbox have supported Linkin Park, performed on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and LaPlante even performed at Coachella with Megan Thee Stallion.

Now, it appears Spiritbox are working with Riot Games on 2XKO following a teaser posted by LaPlante on Instagram.

The blurry teaser video shows LoL character Ahri with a distorted version of a new Spiritbox song in the background.

LaPlante captioned the post “our two hearts beat” which is in reference to Ahri’s ability to throw hearts at people and charm them.

The post could have been for the upcoming LoL esports World Championships, with Riot regularly partnering with huge bands for the tournament.

Riot has previously collaborated with Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X and others to make official anthems for Worlds each year.

However, Riot Games has already revealed the LoL World Championship anthem artists for 2025.

The fact that LaPlante mentions two hearts likely refers to the duo-character system that 2XKO uses.

But the true giveaway was the fact that the official 2XKO account commented on the post with an eyes emoji.

Riot has already partnered with a rock band for 2XKO in Polyphia, as the band released ‘Let’s Go’ as 2XKO’s theme tune.

And the game publishers have worked with rock music various other times before, too.

Most notably, in 2014, Riot released the album ‘Smite and Ignite’ by in-game metal band Pentakill.

The virtual band was led by Norwegian hard rock legend Jørn Lande.

2XKO enters early access with Teemo revealed

Riot has confirmed the early access release date for 2XKO and details on the game’s future.

The fighting game is leaving its closed beta and will be open to all PC players, while console players will have to wait a little longer.

Along with early access will come the release of Teemo as a 2XKO’s 10th playable fighter.

The adorable Yordle looks just as frustrating to play against as you would expect from LoL’s most evil creation.

And there will be plenty more to follow.

Riot has already confirmed that 2XKO will have five seasons in 2026, with a new champion released in each one.
