“I’m at a stage where I don’t have many more tournaments to play, so for me it would be huge” – FalleN on IEM Kraków quest

Esports News UK interviewed Furia’s legendary IGL, Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo, after Furia’s 2-0 destruction of Aurora at IEM Kraków 2026.
It seemed like everything went to plan today. How did it feel on the server?
It definitely feels that way. I think we prepared super well for this match.
We were not really expecting this Dust 2 to be the first pick. We were more expecting it to be the third. So there’s a lot of our other maps prepared as well for this game.
And the fact that we had multiple days to prepare, it helps a lot.
Very happy that the team was able to come in with the right attitude and right mentality as well.
So we played strong and we had good plans, so that’s why we looked that way.
Just contrasting it to Budapest, which is kind of like a sad exit for the team, what was different on the stage today?
I think in Budapest, we took some risks during the match against NaVi, mainly some aggressions that we tried to design to bully the team on the CT side.
Most of those risks that were being taken, they were getting punished. So it looked completely the opposite.
It looked like we are the ones not having the ball on our control, so those risks didn’t pay off. And they had our number; they prepared well for that matchup.
So here I think probably my setup was better, and the fact that we didn’t really need to be that risky and when we were, I think it kind of worked.
So that’s pretty much how the game was different from the other one.
Obviously, KSCERATO was the standout player throughout the series. What do you appreciate about his game?
KSCERATO is very strong aim-wise and mechanical-wise. I think he’s one of the best on the keyboard movements, so he has a lot of power in all of his gaming.
He understands a lot about supporting other players as well, so I do appreciate that a lot. He’s super good at communication.
He helps us making sure that all those small details are going to go through and going to happen. And he’s just a very capable player.
When he’s playing with his groove and with patience, he’s a big killer. So he can get many, many kills and help the team a lot.
About molodoy, he’s warmed up a bit into this year. When I talked to YEKINDAR, he was saying that you and him were teaching him some principles to shape his game. Can you kind of elaborate on what you’re helping with?
I think we come from such a different generation, even though it’s probably only 13, 14 years difference, I think the generation is just so different.
So there’s a lot of things we try to help Danil to see things sometimes, from a different point of view, to work on some of the flaws that we think we have in his game.
Overall, he’s a very talented player, so there isn’t much to be said, but when we find something and when we realise he can be stepping up in some direction, we are always there to give a good idea on what to work in.
What would it mean to win this trophy, because it’s the one thing you’ve not won in your career?
For me, it would be amazing because it’s one of the biggest ones that I didn’t achieve.
I think it’s this tournament and a Grand Slam that I was never able to win. It would be very important for me.
I don’t think I have many multiple chances anymore. I’m at a stage where I don’t have many more tournaments to play, so for me it would be huge.
But at the same time, I’m not too attached to it. If it happens, it’s great, but if it doesn’t, I really did a lot of things.
So I just go out there and try to do the best I can and really feel the moment with my team.
