Harry Styles fans have beef with League of Legends

A fan war has begun between League of Legends players and fans of British pop star, Harry Styles.

Posters popped up on January 12th in various cities to promote Styles’ return to releasing music after a four-year break.

However, on the same day, LoL posters covered up Styles’ advertisement, leavings fans of the former One Direction star livid.

The cryptic posters, which say “We belong together”, were put up in New York City, Berlin, Manchester and various other cities.

The poster believed to be a teaser for Styles’ fourth album, with the picture taken from the singer’s last world tour in 2023.

Its message is pretty similar to the slogan for League of Legends’ Demacia-themed 2026 update, “Stand together”, so Riot must have seen an opportunity.

Riot was already posting LoL adverts in NYC with a large mural of Garen currently located in Brooklyn so some posters were put on the popular Styles ad.

However, Harry Styles fans, who apparently are called “Harries” or “Stylers”, quickly expressed their annoyance over the cover-up.

One fan on Twitter posted: “So tired of nerd men trying to overpower women in the workplace.”

Meanwhile, TikToker Stephaniemiec, who has over 260k followers, quickly leapt into action.

She uploaded a video of herself and friend taking down the LoL posters with the caption:

“The audacity of covering poor Harry’s poster. I thought someone stole it already, but we saved him!”

What’s resulted is arguments and posts between both fandoms in a crossover nobody expected for 2026.

There are probably a few LoL fans who listen to Harry Styles, but a collaboration between the two is pretty unlikely.

Though the MOBA game has collaborated with a lot of big artists already including Lil Nas X, Linkin Park, and Twenty One Pilots.

Famous League of Legends fans

Harry Styles may not be a LoL player, but another major popstar is.

Canadian superstar Just Bieber tweeted out many years ago about his love for Teemo after he started playing the MOBA.

And British rapper AJ Tracey is a huge League of Legends fan, occassionally claiming he owns every skin in the game.

He also references LoL in his song ‘Wifey Riddim 4’ with the lyrics:

“My tings all top lane like Teemos, Malphites, Setts, Urgots or Garens.”

Additionally, a lot of sports stars enjoy the competitive nature of LoL.

In fact, American tennis pro and Wimbledon semi-finalist Taylor Fritz is in the top 12% of LoL players.
