The Pokémon Company has revealed the items from its first-ever collaboration with LEGO.
The upcoming buildable brick sets are part of Pokémon celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
All the sets are available to pre-order now on the Pokémon Centre website in the UK.
The Eevee, Pikachu, and Kanto Starters sets are all due to release on February 27th.
The primary set of the release has already sold out, with UK consumers unable to add the pre-order to their basket.
It’s not uncommon for Pokémon merch to sell out; last week the Pokémon and Natural History Museum Pop-up tickets sold out immediately.
There are three Pokémon LEGO sets currently available to purchase.
The cheapest of the lot is a 587-piece LEGO Eevee, which is available for £54.99.
The Lego version of the iconic normal type has posable legs, face, ears, and feet.
Meanwhile, the 2,050-piece Pikachu costs £179.99.
The Pikachu can be posed to be jumping out of a Poké Ball or to stand on its own in a resting pose.
Though some are critical of the design of this Pikachu LEGO set, with its strangely round face.
Finally, the main set of the release is a behemoth 6,838-piece set.
Said set features the original three Kanto starters: Blastoise, Charizard, and Venusaur.
The Pokémon is clearly relying on nostalgia to sell this set, as it costs £579.99.
Those who pre-order it will also be gifted a LEGO set of the Kanto gym badges.
Some Pokémon fans are frustrated that the 312-piece LEGO set of all eight badges isn’t available to be purchased separately.
It is only obtainable through a near-£600 investment.
Additionally, there is also a small LEGO version of a Pokémon Centre, which is available to LEGO Insider members.
Pricing controversy of Pokémon LEGO sets
LEGO has always been expensive, and Pokémon fans have quickly discovered that reality.
All three revealed sets would cost over £800 in total.
Some took offence to the prices and the release’s slogan “adults welcome” arguing that children were being priced out and forgotten about with this release.
Some also felt that the trailer made fun of adult Pokémon fans, of which there are many, considering the franchise is 30 years old.
Additionally, many fear that scalpers are going to ruin this release too, as they have done with new Pokémon Card drops.
All of the LEGO sets have already been listed on eBay despite the fact that most of the sets are still available for pre-order.
