Team Nemesis quietly drop female roster after ESL Impact cessation

Team Nemesis have quietly dropped its female roster, Nemesis Impact, adding to the list of organisations that have withdrawn support for female Counter-Strike.

The roster is the second of Nemesis’ three Counter-Strike rosters to be dropped in the offseason, following the EU male roster’s release.

Nemesis withdrawal continues the ESL Impact fallout

While some of the British organisation’s players had previously posted Looking For Team (LFT) posts on social media in December, the organisation posted no update regarding the roster.

The cessation of ESL Impact had triggered several women’s rosters to withdraw from the scene, leading to speculation that Nemesis’ roster would join a series of teams in leaving the scene.

Dust2.us Editor in Chief, Jeff ‘Mnmzzz’ Moore, confirmed that the roster entered free agency on December 1, following the conclusion of ESL Impact Season 8.

The roster had been the most ambitious roster Nemesis had signed relative to the strength of its scene.

The core of the team was created from the French Zerance roster, who had finished 5th-6th in ESL Impact Season 7’s LAN Finals.

The Zerance trio was bolstered by former NiP Impact fragger, Anna ‘ramziiN’ Ramsing and veteran legend of the female CS scene, Julia ‘juliano’ Kiran.

Yet the roster could not make it that far in Season 8, disappointingly missing out on the Stockholm LAN following a 9th-10th finish in the Regional qualifiers.

Nevertheless, the result at ESL Impact Season 8 hardly seems relevant in the face of the withdrawals facing the scene now that its central circuit is no more.

Nemesis Impact were:

Julia ‘juliano’ Kiran
Anna ‘ramziiN’ Ramsing
Julie ‘Monkey D. Julie’ Chehab
Rachel ‘RacheLL’ Kujawa
Coline ‘Kaoday’ Le Floc’

Nemesis’ European male roster also dropped

The withdrawal from the female scene leaves Nemesis with only one Counter-Strike roster, following the release of its EPIC.LAN 46-winning EU roster.

The roster, including former ITB players Thomas ‘Thomas’ Utting and Joey ‘CRUC1AL’ Steusel, was released, removing Nemesis’ European interest in Counter-Strike.

The roster peaked at number 89 in the VRS, failing to make decisive progress in the latter half of the year.

In Counter-Strike, Nemesis now only fields Nemesis Asia, their Southeast Asian roster consisting of two Filipinos, two Singaporeans, and one Kazakhstani player.

Nemesis were:

Bram ‘Nexius’ Campana
Roman ‘n0te’ Hamze
Dawid ‘tein’ Śladkowski
Thomas ‘Thomas’ Utting
Joey ‘CRUC1AL’ Steusel

Rupert ‘Rickertje’ Hoop (coach)
