In a fresh cross-continental esports collaboration, North American organisation 100 Thieves and Japanese organisation Crazy Raccoon have launched a joint venture, “Crazy Thieves,” to unite their competitive efforts in the Apex Legends Global Series.
The collaboration brings together both brands and their iconic imagery to 100 Thieves’ Apex Legends roster in time for the ALGS Sapporo Championship.
100 Thieves and Crazy Raccoon: a branding match made in heaven?
While unexpected, the union of 100 Thieves and Crazy Raccoon within the Apex Legends space is seemingly a perfect partnership.

In their announcement, the two teams expressed how moving forward, their collaboration is “built on a foundation of mutual respect, competitive prowess, and a shared vision for global esports dominance.”
As explained by former Apex Legends coach-turned 100 Thieves apparel designer Deston ‘Bronzey’ Nguyen, what initially began as a simple apparel collaboration concept turned into a project built on mutual values:
“I was able to lead the majority of this project from the start, beginning as a simple conversation around an apparel collaboration that grew into one Apex team under both names. “

The partnership offers significant benefits to both organisations.
Crazy Raccoon did not have a team signed for this ALGS Championship, but they now have one of the best North American teams competing with their logo on a jersey.
For 100 Thieves, a partnership with Crazy Raccoon helps expand their branding into a region where they are less recognisable compared to their native North American audience. They boost their popularity in Japan by collaborating with a Japanese brand for a Japanese LAN.
Rooted in gaming, bounded by culture. We’re excited to announce our partnership with Crazy Raccoon.

It also appears as though Apex Legends may only be the start for the branding collaboration.
According to Joseph Jang, SVP Esports of 100 Thieves, “The 100 Thieves Crazy Raccoon roster partnership will unlock global opportunities for both organisations to continue investing into joint esports portfolios, starting with the ALGS.

Crazy Thieves hoping to take the ALGS Championship by storm
With a mere week left before the ALGS Championship begins in Sapporo, Japan, the newly renamed roster is hoping to take the competition by storm.
Previously playing under 100 Thieves’ independent branding, Evan ‘Verhulst’ Verhulst, Noyan ‘Genburten’ Ozkose, and Josue ‘Phony’ Ruiz will now compete in Crazy Thieves jerseys.
Both 100 Thieves and Crazy Raccoon fans will now be cheering them on as they take to the stage.

The trio of highly accomplished players will begin the competition in Group A of the Group Stage.
Despite the incredible records held by all three Crazy Thieves players, they will face a challenging start to the competition. European powerhouses Alliance join them in their group, and their first set sees them take on Gen.G Esports in Group B, one of Apex Legends’ longest-standing rosters.
The ALGS Championship begins on January 15th at 04:15 GMT.
