Pokémon Pocket to get new Pikachu cosmetics and discounted gold in the new year

DeNa are releasing a new bundle for Pokémon Pocket with discounted gold and new Pikachu cosmetics in the mobile TCG.

The New Year bundle will only been availble for a week, from January 1st until January 8th.

While leakers haven’t discovered the cost, the bundle will come with 72 gold and New-Year themed Pikachu card sleeves, mat, coin and more.

Typically, 50 gold alone, without the 22 gold bonus in the bundle above, would cost £7.99, and 70 gold would be over £10 in total.

This bundle is part of the New Year 2026 celebrations in Pokémon Pocket, which will also include missions for the first week of the year.

These missions are almost a carbon copy of the recent Holidays event in Pokémon Pocket, though will give fewer Hourglasses.

The New Year missions will offer 24 Pack Hourglasses and five free packs in total from the following missions:

  • Log in (Day 1) = x3 Pack Hourglasses
  • Log in (Day 2) = x1 Crimson Blaze pack
  • Log in (Day 3) = x3 Pack Hourglasses
  • Log in (Day 4) = x1 Crimson Blaze Pack
  • Log in (Day 5) = x6 Pack Hourglasses
  • Log in (Day 6) = x1 Mega Rising Pack
  • Log in (Day 7) = x12 Pack Hourglasses
  • Wonder Pick 7 times = x1 Mega Rising Pack
  • Participate in 7 battles = x1 Mega Rising Pack

The ‘Share 1 time’ challenge in the Holiday missions, which rewards 12 Pack Hourlgasses, will not return on this occasion.

Another set of missions will also be released between January 4th and January 11th.

These challenges will offer x60 pack hourglasses, x6000 Shinedust, x24 Trade Hourglasses and x12 Wonder Hourglasses in total.

This is just in time for the upcoming return of Full Art Professor Research and Deluxe Pack ex to Pokémon Pocket.

When is the next ranked season in Pokémon Pocket?

The Crimson Blaze update has been out for a while, but Pokémon Pocket players are still waiting for a new ranked season.

While DeNa released an emblem event, there hasn’t been much reason to play online otherwise.

However, the wait is almost over as the next-ranked season is set to begin on Friday, January 9th, 2026.

This will be over three weeks since the release of the latest expansion with the Kanto Starter Mega Evolutions.

The ranked season will then last a little over two weeks, ending on Monday, January 26th.

Presumably, this season will feature lower point requirements to rank up, just like last season.
