The world’s current best tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz, has revealed himself as a big fan of Teamfight Tactics (TFT).
The two-time Wimbledon champion has been enjoying some off-time during the lead-up to Christmas.
And in a social media post, the Spaniard revealed he’s been spending his time playing TFT with friends.
In the post, Alcaraz revealed that as well as playing golf, going to the NBA and watching Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, the Spaniard also enjoys an Autobattler.
The picture shows him and his friends sitting on a sofa all playing the League of Legends spinoff on their phones and tablets.
As the top competitor that he is, the Spaniard doesn’t appear to be playing casually either.
In the posted image, his friend also has a laptop open on a TFT website which helps players build comps and see which are performing best in the meta.

That’s especially useful considering the new update as TFT Lore & Legends features 100 unique champions, the most of any set.
If Alcaraz wants to play like a pro in TFT as well, he should tune in to the game’s biggest esports event of the year, the TFT Open.
The TFT Paris Open starts tomorrow, December 12th, as over 750 of the world’s best players to compete to be crowned World Champion.
Riot Games revealed the full format and $300k+ prize pool breakdown for the TFT Paris Open.
While next year’s TFT open will take place in USA’s Las Vegas, Alcaraz’s popularity could easily bring the esports event to Spain in the near future.

With the competitiveness and skill-intensive quality of esports, it’s no surprise that a lot of professional athletes are interested in the growing industry.
Alcaraz isn’t the only elite tennis player interested in one of Riot Games’ competitive titles.
Wimbledon Semi-finalist Taylor Fritz is in the top 12% of League of Legends players.
Earlier this year, the American sportsman revealed he had reached Emerald 3 in LoL’s ranked mode.
He has also watched LoL Worlds live in-person and has appeared on livestreams with British Twitch star Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont.
Other athletes who have revealed themselves as LoL fans include AEW wrestler Claudio Castagnoli and former NBA star Gordon Hayward.
Additionally, various footballers are big Counter-Strike fans with both Neymar and Oleksandr Zinchenko collaborating with esports teams.
West Ham’s Lucas Paquetá even used a group chat for Counter-Strike to defend himself during his bet-fixing trial.

In my seven years of esports writing, I've introduced esports coverage to newspapers, interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry, and driven viewers mad with the puns in my YouTube scripts. I'm most proud of the latter.
