Day 3 of Stage 1 of the StarLadder Budapest Major brings the business end of the Swiss bracket.
Every match is an elimination or promotion match, which will see the winner of the 2-1 games advance and the loser of the 1-2 matchups go home.
Day 2 saw Lynn Vision and Rare Atom leave the competition, and FlyQuest and M80 make Stage 2.

FlyQuest and M80 progress to Stage 2
FlyQuest have a history of going 2-0 in the bracket only to fall 2-3 eventually when under pressure, but this FlyQuest has shown a different face.
Playing with full confidence, the roster showed no signs of nerves as they dismantled Fluxo limb from limb.
Fluxo won only four rounds in the Best of 3, as FlyQuest won 13-1 on Overpass and 13-3 on Inferno.
Romanian import, Iulian ‘regali’ Harjău starred in a dominant Overpass CT side, which resulted in the simplest of tap-ins on the T-side.
On Inferno, starting on the T-side, Declan ‘Vexite’ Portelli took the game by the scruff of the neck, repeatedly providing openings, giving Joshua ‘INS’ Potter plenty of options on which site to execute on.
A pistol victory followed the 9-3 half, and a demoralised Fluxo were out of the server as they failed to win a T-round to fall 13-3.

M80 faced a regional rival who had recently defeated them in NRG. Yet NRG were missing their IGL, Nicholas ‘nitr0’ Cannella, who missed the event due to the upcoming birth of his child.
That did not stop coach Damian ‘daps’ Steele from showing fine form while standing in, leading his men to unexpected wins against NiP and FaZe.
Sadly, NRG could not reignite that form against an M80 who looked confident and decisive on Day 2.
10-2 opening halves on both Dust 2 and Mirage gave M80 an easy platform to convert the maps with ease, winning 13-7 and 13-2.
Going into Stage 2, where M80 failed last Major, the team will want to emulate their Stage 1 showing, which had all pieces activate at times.
M80’s first two matches showed the team struggling to cross the line. While they will be pleased to have crossed it in style against NRG, they will undoubtedly be put under more pressure in Stage 2.
3-0 EASY WORK 🗣️🇺🇸
