Day two of BLAST Rivals Fall in Hong Kong has confirmed the tournament’s first eliminations, The MongolZ and TYLOO.
Meanwhile, despite being qualified for the playoffs, Team Vitality has continued to struggle in reasserting its former dominance.
TYLOO and The MongolZ bid farewell to BLAST Rivals Fall
In an unfortunate tournament flop for The MongolZ, their defeat to Team Spirit has cut their BLAST Rivals Fall tournament short.
Day one saw BLAST Rivals underdogs rise, unseating and unsettling Champions. Unfortunately, The MongolZ was one of these unseated and unsettled Champions, suffering an embarrassing defeat to the North American team Passion UA.
This pushed them into day two’s elimination match against Team Spirit.

The MongolZ likely need more time to settle after their recent roster change. Team Spirit defeated the Mongolian team in two maps, winning Dust II 13-6 and Ancient 13-10.
Meanwhile, Passion UA were defeated by Team Falcons, leaving them seeded in the Quarterfinals for the Playoffs.
Despite coming excruciatingly close to defeating Team Vitality in their opening match, TYLOO also conceded to elimination. They lost to paiN Gaming, bringing an end to their BLAST Rivals Fall run.

Fatigued victories show Team Vitality’s glory days slip further away
Team Vitality has not had a good time on Nuke lately.
Star player Matthiew ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut is still achieving incredible plays, but the overall team dynamic appears to be slightly disjointed.

On day one, TYLOO defeated Team Vitality on Nuke in a humiliating 13-4 stomp. Though Team Vitality eventually won the overall series 2-1, they were also pushed to their limits on map three, Inferno, only scraping a 13-11 win due to a critical error from TYLOO.

Meanwhile, day two has not felt much better. Facing FURIA, who recently defeated them to claim a landmark IEM LAN trophy in a dominant Chengdu Final performance, they continued to battle their demons.
As with day one, a Nuke victory was ripped from Vitality’s grasp. This time, FURIA defeated them 13-11.

During map two, Overpass, the game’s casters described “Vitality falling flat on their own faces.”
Although Team Vitality eventually clutched a 16-13 Overtime victory on the map, their struggle continued on Inferno.
A shaky CT-side and inability to gain momentum left them on a final score of 5 rounds to FURIA’s 13. This pushed them to the Quarterfinals, where they will face Team Spirit.
