Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund rolled back the years to provide an ace against Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev’s BC.Game team at Sweden’s Gibaway Journey LAN.
The Swedish legend went 17-14 in a spirited display for his team, boomer demons.
However, it was not enough to help his Swedish roster across the line as they lost 13-6.
Historic duos clash in Swedish LAN hall
GeT_RiGhT is present at Gibaway LAN playing with his former NIP teammates Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg and Adam ‘friberg’ Friberg.
The three were part of the legendary NiP roster, who began CSGO with an incredible 87-0 streak, and won the ESL Cologne 2014 Major.
GTR and f0rest, especially, are considered individually two of the best players of all time, with dozens of titles in Counter-Strike 1.6 and CSGO.
GeT_RiGhT is widely celebrated not only for his sharp aim at his pomp, but being one of the most intelligent players of all time, defining and modernising the lurking role.
The two are widely regarded as one of the best duos in the history of esports, with an almost telepathic connection at their peak.
Another such duo were opposite them in the server, with s1mple and Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov capturing the PGL Stockholm 2021 Major and the Intel Grand Slam together, amongst other trophies in their historic time on NaVi.
The NiP trio are playing alongside female pro player, Tilde ‘7licious’ Byström of Ghost, and her former Copenhagen Flames teammate, Lina ‘Lina’ Henriksson, for the LAN event, in the first return of boomer demons since the cessation of open qualifiers for RMRs.
GeT_RiGhT out-AWPs s1mple ace round
BC.Game was 11-5 rounds up, and 5v4 up in the round when GeT_RiGhT picked up the AWP on the A bombsite
First, GeT_RiGhT held an off-angle around the Quad boxes, catching s1mple as he walked into the angle.
GeT_RiGhT then peeked long, taking out Nemanja ‘nexa’ Isaković and allowing boomer demons to focus on CT and short.
Next up, GTR made the bold call to peek CT, catching Andreas ‘aNdu’ Maasing in the smoke, then repeeking Denis ‘electroNic’ Sharipov, before jumping up to bring death from above to Aleksandar ‘CacaNito’ Kjulukoski.
GeT_RiGhT pulling an ACE vs a team with s1mple and electroNic on LAN in 2025 was not on my bingo card 😭

boomer demons would go on to swiftly lose the match 13-6, but GeT_RiGhT’s clutch gave joy to Counter-Strike’s old-school fans, who enjoyed watching GeT_RiGhT recreate the clutch moments and quick-thinking that made him famous.
While the Swedish mix will not advance from the Group Stage of the round-robin, already out of contention for progressing, the appearance at least gave us a reminder of the greatness of one of Counter-Strike’s most celebrated players.
BC.Game have won all their contests so far, except a 9-13 loss to aimclub.
