LoL Worlds 2025 hits new viewership peak after T1 thriller

T1 and Lee ‘Fake’ Sang-hyeok have broken another viewership record at the 2025 League of Legends World Championships (LoL Worlds).

The five-time LoL World Champions already broke the LoL Worlds Play-In viewership record after sweeping Invictus Gaming in this year’s event.

Now, the LoL Worlds quarter-final between reigning world champions T1 and LPL’s Anyone’s Legend was the most viewed match of the tournament so far.

A peak audience of over 3.27 million viewers tuned in to T1’s comeback victory over Anyone’s Legend at LoL Worlds.

That is according to data platform Esports Charts, which reported a total peak audience of 3,272,573 viewers during the five-game thriller.

This was more than 700k more fans than the next most-watched LoL Worlds 2025 quarter-final.

That’s a 48% increase on Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports series, which was the final match of now-retired LoL jungle icon Peanut.

LoL Worlds 2025 is already in the top ten of most-watched LoL esports tournaments with 90.3m hours watched across its 75 hours of airtime.

Though most of the viewership is going to a single channel, British Twitch co-streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, who has peaked at over 288k viewers during this year’s Worlds.

T1 and Faker’s popularity has shone through again this year.

The South Korean esports team features in four of the five most-watched LoL Worlds 2025 series so far, each peaking above two million viewers.

Faker has won a record five LoL Worlds titles, including the last two tournaments.

One of the greatest esports pros of all time is now looking to help T1, formerly SKT T1, to its unprecedented eighth LoL Worlds final.

LoL Worlds 2025 semi-final match-ups

The LoL Worlds semi-final match-ups are set with two huge best-of-fives to decide the potential Summoner’s Cup winners.

T1 are looking to win a third consecutive Worlds but have struggled at the tournament and barely made it through.

Though after beating AL, they will be heavily favoured in their semi-final match-up against another LPL team in Top Esports (TES).

And the other semi-final is a huge all-LCK match-up and a fascinating twist of fate.

During the LCK Season Playoffs, MSI champions Gen.G chose KT Rolster as their opponents, expecting an easy win.

Instead, KT Rolster surprisingly won, qualified for Worlds, and now the team has made it further at Worlds than it ever has in its 13-year history.

Now, KT Rolser will be looking to cause another huge upset against the LoL Worlds 2025 favourites.
