Baus officially stays with Los Ratones and will play in LEC

Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont and Los Ratones have announced that Simon ‘Baus’ Hofverberg is remaining with the team.

The streamer had his first taste of competitive League of Legends, helping Los Ratones to three NLC and two EMEA Masters trophies.

Baus’ future with Los Ratones was uncertain as the streamer questioned whether he wanted to compete full-time.

Los Ratones lent into that with their announcement, pretending he was leaving before revealing Baus will join them at LEC Versus.

As a part of the LEC Versus, the new event replacing the Winter Split, Los Ratones’ players and Caedrel will have to relocate to Berlin.

Plus, it will require even more time commitment as the team tries to reach the same level as LEC teams.

However, Baus has repeatedly made it clear that he does not want to give up on being a full-time content creator.

This has had Baus doubting his future with the team, saying:

“I don’t want to go into a point in my life where I get bored of the game.

“I don’t want it to turn into this thing where I wake up and play passive under tower for five hours a day. That’s not what I wanna do, that’s not how I play.”

His complaints then gave a hint of what fans can expect from Baus in the LEC:

“Best case scenario is if I can grief and int in pro play.”

Though Baus admitted his teammates might be fed up with him “going 0-10 in lane.”

The mood within the team hit a new low after Los Ratones were embarrassed 3-0 by Karmine Corp Blue and eliminated from EMEA Masters Summer.

What does the future hold for Los Ratones?

The future for Los Ratones has remained unclear, though the team are seemingly sticking together and looking to continue competing.

Before LEC Verus, the team will compete at the Red Bull League of Its Own 2025 event alongside the likes of T1 and G2 Esports.

And Baus is the second player to confirm he’s staying after Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson confirmed his Los Ratones future.

The real question is what will happen to Los Ratones after LEC Versus, as they only have a guest slot in the LEC until Spring.

Fans have repeatedly asked for Los Ratones to bootcamp in Korea and Caedrel has ties with T1, having streamed from their offices before.

Perhaps Los Ratones could take a break in Spring to create content in Korea, then compete for an LEC slot again in the Summer.

Caedrel has also confirmed that he previously had meetings about potentially combining Los Ratones with an existing Tier-1 LoL team.
