KPop Demon Hunters has LoL fans desperate for more K/DA

Hit Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters is everywhere you look, and that has League of Legends fans missing K/DA.

Understandably, as the release of the highly acclaimed K-pop Demon Hunters movie with HUNTR/X immediately drew comparisons to LoL’s K/DA.

KPop Demon Hunters is Netflix’s most-watched movie ever, with over 236 million views, while the soundtrack has over 3 billion all-time Spotify listens.

The virtual K-pop group K/DA, consisting of LoL champions Akali, Ahri, Kai’Sa and Evelynn, have almost 1.6 billion listens on Spotify across just six songs.

October 28th marks FIVE years since K/DA’s last single ‘MORE’ released. That, along with the Demon Hunters hype, has LoL fans lamenting what ‘more’ Riot could have done with K/DA.

LoL developers Riot Games know a thing or two about making an animated hit for Netflix.

The LoL-based animated series Arcane ranked first on the Netflix Top 10 Chart across 52 countries.

Arcane racked up a ton of awards, including the 2025 Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.

Which is all to say, K/DA’s insane popularity and the subsequent success of KPop Demon Hunters feels like a missed opportunity.

Especially as KPop Demon Hunters music supervisor Ian Eisendrath revealed in a Reddit AMA that K/DA directly inspired the movie’s soundtrack (and likely designs).

Despite K/DA’s immense success, Riot has not made any new music for the virtual group since the ‘ALL OUT’ EP released in 2020.

Riot did follow up K/DA with a K-pop-inspired boy band called ‘HEARTSTEEL’,

The multilingual band featured Ezreal, K’Sante, Kayn, Yone, and Sett. It had moderate success, but not to the same level as K/DA.

Meanwhile, K-pop fans can get their video game fix with Fortnite, which released KPop Demon Hunter cosmetics earlier this month.

Community demands more K/DA songs from Riot Games

As mentioned earlier, KPop Demon Hunters has K/DA fans eager for more content from the LoL band.

The five-year anniversary of MORE unlocked the terrifying wrath of K-pop fans as they realised how long it had been.

One Twitter user sarcastically joked it was a shame Riot hasn’t released ‘more’ K/DA songs since the ALL OUT EP.

While others were more blunt in their feedback, with one fan saying:

“If you ever feel stupid, remember Riot Games hasn’t made a K/DA comeback for more than five years despite it being the reason LoL peaked in popularity in 2018.”

That Tweet proved to be overwhelmingly popular with over 25,000 likes.

However, a K/DA comeback isn’t exactly simple, as it largely depends on Soyeon and Miyeon from K-pop group (G)I-dle.

(G)I-dle, now known as I-dle, went on a World Tour in 2024 and released their eighth EP ‘We Are’ earlier this year.

Getting hold of the K-pop stars could be difficult for Riot, and replacing them would surely be a controversial decision.
