DeNa has announced that Pokémon TCG Pocket will be getting a new update that fans have highly requested.
Many players considered the Pokémon Pocket Deluxe Pack Ex expansion to be a total rip-off.
Especially as the supposed catch-up set didn’t count towards previous expansions’ Dex challenges.
An upcoming update will finally fix this. However, for some reason, this simple update won’t arrive until Summer 2026.
We'd like to share some news about future updates to the card dex in #PokemonTCGPocket.

DeNa has announced that cards which appear in multiple packs will now register for all corresponding Pokédexes.
This update will retrospectively add previously obtained cards into every applicable Dex.
There were plenty of issues with the Deluxe Packs, including the fact that Wonderpicks became impossible to understand what cards were and weren’t owned.
And there are a lot of issues with the game’s UI too. In fact, there is a long list of improvements that Pokémon Pocket desperately needs.
if it's going to take pocket 9+ months to implement such a simple change, i think all of our other requests (more game modes, dark mode, universal pack points, etc) are never going to feasibly happen. summer 2026??? are you serious? at this rate the game will be dead by then https://t.co/tgWwQN799n

Things like slow animations, the inability to open more than one promo pack at a time, and the lack of dark mode have frustrated players.
DeNa claims UI improvements will be made along with the Dex registration update in Summer 2026, at least seven months from now.
While fans unanimously agreed that this update is good news, but there was outrage over the long wait time.

One furious Twitter reply said: “Completely unacceptable timeline. You are not a small indie dev. This should be a hot fix implemented after a week of feedback.
“You still don’t have a dark mode ONE YEAR INTO THE GAME. Unacceptable. There is no excuse.”
Another added: “2026 for this kind of feature? What are you guys planning until then? The lame ass boring wonder pick and sneak peak events????”
It’s been reported that Pokémon Pocket’s monthly revenue recently dropped by around 50% as the playerbase’s frustrations grow.
New Mega Rising expansion revealed for Pokémon Pocket
In a huge update which could be crucial to the game’s future, the upcoming Mega Rising expansion is Pokémon Pocket’s biggest yet.
The expansion, releasing October 30th, will feature three unique packs containing new Mega Evolution Pokémon.
All of the new cards revealed for Pokémon Pocket Mega Rising look pretty exciting, with powerful Mega cards looking meta-defining.
A couple of trainer cards have also been revealed, which add more card draw to the game and look very strong.
May puts two random Pokémon cards from your deck into your hand, but you have to discard a Pokémon for each one you keep.
Meanwhile, Lisia puts two random basic Pokémon with 50 HP or less into your hand from your deck at no cost.
