Week 1 at League of Legends Worlds 2025 threw up a lot of upsets, with T1 and BLG currently sitting in the 1-2 bracket as part of a tantalising Round 4 draw.
KT Rolster and Anyone’s Legend are the only two teams who can sleep soundly, as Week 2 of Worlds kicks off on October 22.
However, for the top teams, Worlds has always been a marathon rather than a sprint, where figuring out the meta of the patch is a vital aspect to success deep in the tournament.
So after Week 1, what do the champion stats tell us about Worlds 2025 so far?
Highest winrate champions at Leauge of Legends Worlds 2025 Week 1
A dozen champions currently have a 100% winrate, but of those, nine have played a single game, with the remaining three having two or three game involvements.
Viktor, Nocturne and LeBlanc are the only champs with multiple games to have a 100% winrate.
LeBlanc holds a 100% winrate in three memorable appearances, with Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther, and Cui ‘Shanks’ Xiao-Jun fielding the character against IG, MKOI and CFO, respectively.
However, three is still a small sample size, with the champion being rarely picked or banned. So, what champion has the highest winrate with more than three games played?
In that case, the highest winrate champions are Sion and Xin Zhao, with both winning 11 of their 13 contests, boasting an 84.6% winrate.
It will be no surprise to those paying attention that Sion is the highest winrate champion with those conditions, as Sion’s overpowered nature has been one of the most discussed topics about the current meta.
After his win against 100T, HLE’s Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je stated, “Sion is just too OP right now… First he got an indirect buff, and then the champion got a direct buff, so I think this is just too overpowered at the moment.”
However, Xin Zhao’s dominance has flown relatively under the radar, despite community discussion, with the jungler equalling the win percentage of the Top Lane powerhouse.
Highest Kill Participation % by Champions at Worlds 2025*:
- Braum – 85.2%
- Trundle – 84.3%
- Bard – 83.2%
- Orianna – 82.9%
- Alistar – 82.4%
Which champions have been banned the most at Worlds 2025?
So if Sion and Xin Zhao are so good, then what are the pros prioritising banning over them?
The answer is that pro players are clearly more afraid of playing against Azir, who has been banned a whopping 28 times in 35 total contests.
As a result, the character has only been played four times so far at League of Legends Worlds 2025 with only a 50% winrate.
Of those involvements, three of the four times the champion was allowed to be played, it was a Western team that played the champion, with Fnatic and G2 failing to win with the champ, FlyQuest defeating TSW with the mid-laner.
Only HLE of the LCK teams have played the champion in their demolition of 100T.
Resultantly, the champion has not made it through or been played when Eastern teams have played each other.
Orianna, Yunara, Poppy, and Neeko closely follow Azir in terms of being banned, with 23, 22, 21, and 20 bans, respectively.
Poppy is the most dominant of the champions so far at Worlds, rivalling Sion and Xin Zhao with an 83.3% winrate over six contests.
Orianna and Yunara also have strong winrates: 77.8% and 70% respectively.
Neeko, on the other hand, is sitting at only three wins in eight contests, giving the support only a 37.55% winrate despite being banned from 20 contests.
Highest Pick/Ban rate at Worlds 2025:
- Azir – 91.4%
- Orianna – 91.4%
- Yunara – 91.4%
- Neeko – 80%
- Poppy – 77.1%
Lowest winrate at Worlds Week 1 by champion
Those watching League of Legends Worlds 2025 Week 1 may be under the misconception that Jarvan IV has the lowest winrate at Worlds, as the champion went 0-9 in his first nine games at Worlds.
That trend was reversed as Fnatic and PSG Talon somewhat redeemed the champion before being eliminated from the tournament, winning games in the 0-2 bracket on their way out.
Resultantly, Jarvan sits at an 18.2%, the third-worst of champions who were played over three times.
The worst champion by winrate at LoL Worlds 2025 so far is K’Sante, with a dismal 2-11 win/loss ratio. That means the champ has won 15.4% of its games.
Only Sergen ‘BrokenBlade’ Çelik and Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon have piloted the top laner to wins, with notable players such as Zeus and Chen ‘Bin’ Ze-Bin failing to win.
Even Doran failed to win with K’Sante in the all-important Play-in, which T1 eventually won against Invictus Gaming.
Pantheon (1-5), Kai’Sa (2-8), Nautilus (1-4), Vi (2-7), and Rakan (2-7) have not fared much better, despite all being consistently on-meta champs in 2025.
Most deaths per game at Worlds 2025*:
- Pantheon – 5.5
- Nautilus – 5
- Jarvan IV – 4.73
- Rell – 4.6
- Rek’Sai – 4.33

With one week under their belts, will we see a gradual drift in the picks and bans as players realise that their usual picks are weak or that they need to remove Sion from the champion pool?
Worlds have always evolved as they have progressed, so you can be sure that teams won’t be static in the face of the above data.
Until then, you can check out our Worlds Week 2 preview which looks forward to the upcoming fixtures as the Swiss Stage reaches its conclusion.
