Next Pokémon Pocket update will have three packs and new features leaked

The next Pokémon TCG Pocket update is going to be the biggest the mobile game has ever seen.

Mega evolutions are coming to Pokémon Pocket soon, according to the leaked release date.

The new powerful type of cards, which will award three points and an automatic win for killing them, will revolutionise the game.

And Pokémon Pocket will get some much-needed variety as another leak has revealed the update will feature three unique packs.

The official Japanese page for Pokémon Pocket accidentally revealed early information about the upcoming Mega Evolutions expansion.

The expansion, the first of the game’s ‘Set B’, will feature three packs and will be called ‘Megas Rising’ or something similar, judging by translations.

Just like Genetic Apex with Pikachu, MewTwo, and Charizard, Mega Rising will feature separate packs for Mega Blaziken, Mega Altaria, and Mega Gyarados.

This accidental leak also revealed that Goomy and presumably Goodra are coming to the game as the Pokémon appear in the background of one menu.

This would make sense as Goodra is one of the more iconic Pokémon from Generation VI where Mega Evolutions debuted.

From the leaked screenshots, some eagle-eyed fans also noticed a new favourites button on the packs screen.

It would appear that players will soon be able to favourite whatever pack they are currently opening.

This suggests that, finally, Pokémon Pocket players won’t be forced to look at the new pack when opening the game each day.

New features coming to Pokémon Pocket

As well as these leaked new features, DeNa announced a ton of new changes coming to Pokémon Pocket for its one-year anniversary.

There aren’t any of the 10 needed changes for Pokémon Pocket we suggested, but these still appear to be steps in the right direction.

Three new major features are coming to the mobile TCG game.

Firstly, once a day players will now be able to a card, between one diamond to four diamonds (EX cards) rarity, directly to a friend for nothing in return.

And in addition to that, trading is being opened up with the latest expansion no longer excluded from the tradable list.

As well as this, players will now be able to trade cards up to two-star rarity (rainbow rares) including shinies.

Assumedly, spares will still be needed but this is a huge boost for players who packed more than two copies of immersive cards.

The only cards that seemingly won’t be tradable are crown rares and promo cards.

The third and final change will see significant improvements to the Wonder Pick feature.

Pokémon Pocket players will be able to see how many copies they own of each card on the Wonder Pick screen.

And in addition to that, DeNa promises cards from the latest expansion you don’t own will appear more frequently in Wonder Picks too.
