The LEC is guaranteed a win thanks to tomorrow’s LoL Worlds draw

Tomorrow is another day…
The start of the Swiss Stages at the League of Legends World Championship was awful for Europe as all three LEC teams lost their LoL Worlds openers.
EMEA is now the only region without a win at Worlds this year, but the Round 2 draw has helped the region with an LEC vs LEC match-up.
Here are the next LoL Worlds matches taking place tomorrow (October 16th).

G2 Esports (0-1) vs Movistar KOI (0-1)
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT EU DOES NOT GO 2 DAYS AT WORLDS WITHOUT A WIN.

The LEC is guaranteed a win tomorrow, but is also guaranteed a loss.
G2 vs MKOI is a rematch of the LEC Summer Finals, which G2 dominated in a clean 3-0 sweep.
However, in best-of-ones, anything can happen and MKOI looked pretty good in defeat.
In fact, they came agonisingly close to upsetting KT Rolster before they tragically threw their lead.
Meanwhile, G2 seemingly reverted back to their awful MSI form with a timid performance against Top Esports.
If MKOI can mentally stay calm, they could shock G2.
FlyQuest (0-1) vs Vivo Keyd Stars (0-1)

Another regional match-up and another Summer finals rematch.
Similarly to the LEC, FlyQuest defeated VKS 3-1 in the LTA Summer finals and FlyQuest will be heavy favourites again.
Both teams lost their opener as FlyQuest were dominated by reigning World Champions T1 and VKS got stomped by Team Secret Whales.
That loss for VKS for particularly painful for them, as that seemed to be one of the best match-ups they could hope for.
This should be a clockwork win for FlyQuest.
Top Esports (1-0) vs 100 Thieves (1-0)

The LTA third seeds had been bottom of the LTA North, somehow made it through Playoffs, and had to bootcamp without jungler Kim ‘River’ Dong-woo.
Yet, they somehow defeated China’s LPL champions Bilibili Gaming and did so in an astonishingly dominant game.
Meanwhile, TES rolled over G2 without much fuss and have to be the favourites again.
But 100 Thieves could become the LPL slayers with another massive upset.
Bilibili Gaming (0-1) vs Fnatic (0-1)
That shock win for 100 Thieves knocked BLG down into the lower bracket and Fnatic are the unfortunate sacrificial lambs.
The LEC third seeds drafted poorly and lost to the LCP champions CTBC Flying Oyster.
BLG will be heavy favourites here, and if they win, Fnatic will be on the verge of elimination with three losses in Swiss ending a team’s Worlds campaign.
Anyone’s Legend (1-0) vs Gen.G (1-0)

Anyone’s Legend had a brutal match-up in the opening round against one of the tournament favourites, Hanwha Life Esports.
However, they won thanks to a miraculous Hextech Soul steal by support Kim ‘Kael’ Jin-hong.
And their reward is a match-up with the tournament favourites, MSI champions Gen.G.
Gen.G went 3-0 through the Swiss stage at Worlds last year and will look to do the same again after easily defeating PSG Talon.
Gen.G still have to be favoured to win here but this will be a very exciting best-of-one.

That Anyone’s Legend shock has led to another awful draw for PSG.
After having to battle with Gen.G, PSG now have to battle the First Stand 2025 champions in HLE.
This should be a routine win for HLE, though LCP teams can always cause surprises, especially in best-of-ones.
T1 (1-0) vs CTBC Flying Oyster (1-0)

This one should be fun.
CFO are only of only three LoL teams with a win-rate above 80% in 2025 after an impressive year and a dark horse at this tournament.
Meanwhile, T1 have won the last two LoL Worlds but are LCK’s fourth seeds after a lack of consistency.
Hence, they had to eliminate Invictus Gaming to qualify through the Play-Ins.
T1 are incredibly difficult to beat, especially at Worlds, but during the early stages in a best-of-one, there’s always room for an upset.
CFO will undoubtedly test them and try to cause a surprise.
KT Rolster (1-0) vs Team Secret Whales (1-0)

Finally, we have another LCK vs LCP match-up.
This is Team Secret Whales’ first international event and they got off to a great start by dominating the LTA’s VKS.
Meanwhile, KT got very lucky that MKOI made some poor choices and allowed them back into the game.
KT have an unfortunate history of mishaps and chokes, so Team Secret Whales could cause a big upset here.
But for now, KT have to be favoured to win this game.
