Riot has released the long-awaited music video for LoL Worlds 2025, titled ‘Sacrifice’ featuring artist G.E.M..
The video includes a tribute to World 2011 winner, Maciej ‘Shushei’ Ratuszniak, who passed away at the age of 36 following a battle with cancer.
Shushei was part of the Fnatic roster that won the inaugural Worlds title. The Polish legend was awarded the MVP award for his performances at the event.
The tribute appears at the end of a montage of images which appear at the end of the music video, which show several iconic images from Worlds gone by.
The inclusion has been celebrated by the community, including broadcast legend Eefje ‘sjokz’ Depoortere, who posted, “Seeing the tributes to Shushei and our community over the last 15 years… I think it is so beautiful, I can’t get over it. For those of us who have been there for so long… it hits hard”
In the comments section for the video, fans praised the inclusion and evoked the LoL Worlds 2017 anthem, remarking, “Legends Never Die.”

I actually love this SO MUCH, A BALLAD is so different but SO amazing in this context…. Imagine with a live orchestra oh my god.
I really love the style for the 15 years of League celebration, and celebrating so much of our history. I think this is… https://t.co/dbT87nC5wd

The video’s release was delayed as Riot chose to edit Gabriël ‘Bwipo’ Rau out of the video following sexist remarks on stream.
Resultantly, the video does not highlight a single NA player or moment from North American League’s past.
However, the video does pay tribute to many of League’s legends, most notably Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther, Kim ‘Deft’ Hyuk-kyu, Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok, and Jian ‘Uzi’ Zihao.
The video also features Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk, Đỗ ‘Levi’ Duy Khánh, and Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković, amongst others.
Some community members expressed confusion at Perkz’s inclusion in the context of Bwipo’s removal, due to Perkz’ own outspoken social media presence.
The music video evokes many moments from Worlds’ past, including IG vs FPX at Worlds 2019, G2 vs Gen.G at Worlds 2020, T1 vs JDG at Worlds 2023.
Following the animation, the video features images from LoL history, featuring GAM owner Anthony “TK Nguyen” Nguyễn, Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson, Chen ‘Bin’ Ze-Bin and many others.
