Team Heretic’s Valorant Champions Paris ambitions were dealt a severe blow as they fell 2-0 to a rampant mibr in the Upper Quarterfinals of VCT Champs 2025.
mibr were clearly not intimidated by the EWC Valorant champions, as an overtime victory on Corrode led to a dominant display on Heretic’s map-pick of Sunset.

Team Heretics, featuring British Fortnite legend Benjamin ‘benjyfishy’ Fish, were highly fancied to continue in the upper bracket after making it through the group stage in flawless fashion.
mibr had other ideas, as the Brazilian roster continued their own momentum from defeating RRQ 13-5, 13-5 in the decider match in Group B.
Team Heretics are now cast down to the lower bracket, where they will play the loser of GiantX/NRG.
The loss means they will have to make a flawless run from Lower Round 1 if they want to lift the trophy, requiring five consecutive series victories.

mibr continues sharpshooting form into Valorant Champions Playoffs
mibr dominated the engagements of the contest from the outset, getting off to a hot start on Corrode, going 8-4 on the attacking half of corrode.
Heretics were able to fight back in the second half in a series of tight rounds to push it to overtime, before mibr converted the map 14-12.
On Sunset, Heretics threatened a fightback again after mibr had won the first half convincingly at 9-3; however, mibr convincingly took the game into their hands in round 17, overwhelming a Heretics who had a broken buy despite winning round 16.
From then on, mibr simply crushed their opponents as they drove towards victory.
Erick ‘aspas’ Santos was the second-best-performing player in the group stage, with a 1.32 average rating. The Brazilian unbelievably hit three Operator collaterals in three rounds to make his mark on Sunset.
That form continued into the playoffs with aspas top-fragging 19-10-5 in a 1.45-rated second map of Sunset.
However, it was Arthur ‘artzin’ Araujo who was the top performer in the series, averaging a 1.43 rating with a 39-24 K/D, opening up the series for his team with strong openings on Corrode.

Valorant Champs bracket blown wide open
The loss for Heretics blows the bottom half of the upper bracket open, as one of MIBR, GiantX, or NRG are now guaranteed to progress to the Upper Bracket Final.
GiantX made it to the Grand Final of EMEA Stage 2, and NRG were finalists in the Americas Stage 2.
The winner of their contest will have to play an in-form mibr for that Upper Final spot.
Who would’ve thought mid-way through this season that one of GX, MIBR or NRG would be top 3 at Champions. Wild.
