New ALGS rosters for the remainder of Split 2: Mid-split rostermania

Year 5 ALGS rosters (Apex Legends Global Series) have given fans one of the most dramatic mid-season rostermanias to date.

With significant changes across The Americas, shifts across EMEA teams, and even region swapping, here is a rundown of September 2025’s most impactful roster moves:

Team Falcons trigger IGL surplus for ALGS rosters in The Americas

Rhys ‘Zer0’ Perry’s transfer from Team Falcons to the Free Agent roster “ZZ” provided the perfect storm for a flurry of transfers. Initially, he was announced as benched from the Falcons Apex roster.

His departure from Team Falcons resulted in Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen retaking the IGL mantle, effectively adding another IGL to the region.

Therefore, ALGS rosters in The Americas found themselves dealing with a surplus of IGLs.

Zer0’s addition to a new team was inevitable. As one of the most decorated players in ALGS history, leaving him roster-less would be a travesty.

Additionally, Zer0 holds a total of 2,260 Championship Points. Championship Points are necessary for qualification to the ALGS Sapporo Championship in January 2026. Teams add up the points from each roster member to reach their total.

As a result, both Zer0’s highly regarded IGL skills and highly beneficial Championship points would never have gone to waste.

Due to the IGL surplus, Zach ‘Zachmazer’ Mazer was removed from the ZZ roster in favour of Zer0. Zachary ‘Gild’ Dennis moved from ZZ to Team Falcons to complete their trio, and Nicholas ‘Fuhhnq’ Wall took his place.

This resulted in the following transfer pattern across the two teams:

The roster domino effect in The Americas

ALGS rosters did not limit transactions to the Team Falcons and ZZ shakeup in The Americas.

Despite having had a relatively successful start to Split 2 on Pioneers, Ashton ‘sirsay’ Hatheway decided to leave the roster in favour of one with more secure Championship qualification prospects.

He will complete Split 2 with Kyle ‘Crook’ Hughes and Alexander ‘Enemy’ Rodriguez on FYR Strays.

Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith, who was originally competing with Crook and Enemy, stepped away from the roster.

Meanwhile, on Albralelie joined Stallions after Firdaws ‘yJely’ Abadi left Paris ‘StayNaughty’ Gouzoulis and Chase ‘Shooby’ Vasquez.

To fill the newly formed gap on Pioneers, ‘mav’ has joined the roster. At the time of publishing, this is listed on ALGS Year 5 transactions, but is unconfirmed by Pioneers.

APAC-South and The Americas ALGS rosters engage in a region swap

Roster changes in The Americas even had a cross-regional impact. After Gen Ghi ‘StrafingFlame’ Subroto left Al Qadsiah in APAC-South (Asia-Pacific South), James ‘KIMCHI’ Lee moved from Thuggets in The Americas to Al Qadsiah.

While Joshua ‘Vlorzy’ Hernandez will leave Masters of Evil to take KIMCHI’s place, Miles ‘Milez’ Burgess will join Masters of Evil instead.

Milez was previously playing for The Durags, which LFT player ‘Hambino’ is expected to join as per ALGS Year 5 transactions.

Meanwhile, StrafingFlame will remain in APAC-South. He has replaced ‘Renaisanss’ on Kakkoii according to ALGS Year 5 transactions.

The APAC-South region has also seen transactions affecting Wolves Esports (Chen ‘Nirvana’ Xiaoyu has left, ‘XZZUWU’ has joined), Remarkable Team, and Bad Aim Team.

The most important changes to keep in mind as Split 2 restarts.

Most of the more impactful changes to ALGS rosters occurred in The Americas following Team Falcons’ initial mid-split roster shakeup

Given their positions high on the regional leaderboard, it will be particularly interesting to observe how Pioneers, ZZ, Team Falcons, and Stallions adapt to their new ALGS rosters. All four teams are currently in the top ten.

Viewers should also make sure not to miss KIMCHI’s APAC-South debut after his region swap from The Americas.

Although far fewer changes were made in the EMEA region, o7 has a new coach and player joining the team.

This change marks their last-ditch attempt to qualify for the Championship. They will need to win the region or, most likely, prepare for a Last Chance Qualifier.

APAC-North also experienced minimal change, with roster changes only impacting Striderz and Teqwing during the mid-split break.

Overall, all eyes will be on the turbulent Americas to see where the changes will be most severely felt.
