Counter-Strike legend dupreeh announces new FPS ‘Skyward Masters’

Legendary former Counter-Strike pro Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen has revealed a new arena-FPS game called Skyward Masters.

The Frenchman has invested in the game and helped directly with game development.

Five-time major winner dupreeh has partnered with Astralis co-founder Frederik Byskov and three other Danish founders.

Skyward Masters is a fast-paced arena shooter FPS where four teams battle on floating islands in an ever-changing environment.

The game has been in development for two and a half years by the three original co-founders of the development team Trinor Entertainment.

Skyward Master is planned to be released sometime in 2027 and is set to be available to wishlist on Steam in the coming days.

Players can sign up to receive the game’s newsletter and take part in upcoming closed playtests on the Skyward Masters website.

A press release from the developers claims that Skyward Masters will create a new genre within Arena Shooters.

And, unsurprisingly, there are esports aspirations for the game as Trinor hopes the game can rival Counter-Strike, Fortnite, and League of Legends.

dupreeh is hoping the game will capture the magic of those games:

“I’ve been on the scene as a player for many years, and now I have the chance to help create a game that delivers the same emotions and experiences I’ve had throughout my career.

“Skyward Masters combines intense action with tactical elements in a way that I believe will appeal to both casual gamers and hardcore competitors.

“It’s a dream project, and I’m incredibly excited to build it together with the team.”

Despite this, dupreeh says he is not leaving CS behind and is still looking to do more talent work this year and next.

dupreeh retired earlier this year as one of Counter-Strike’s most legendary players.

He is the most-decorated player in CS history, dupreeh is still the only player to have won five Majors.

Those wins were:

  • ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017
  • FACEIT Major: London 2018
  • Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2019
  • StarLadder Berlin Major 2019
  • BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023

And on top of all that, dupreeh remarkably was able to attend all 19 of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Majors – another achievement nobody else managed.

Meanwhile in Counter-Strike 2, the UK might be witnessing the birth of its own legend.

Team Vitality’s William ‘mezii’ Merriman made history as the first Brit to win a CS Major.
