There are five heroes who are getting Persona 5 skins, including the game’s brand-new support Wuyang.
The Persona 5 skins for Overwatch 2 are:
- Wuyang (Joker)
- Mercy (Panther)
- Lifeweaver (Fox)
- D.Va (Queen)
- Genji (Skull)
Yes, this means there has been a collaboration where Kiriko doesn’t get a skin.
Although some in the community still aren’t happy, especially with some of Blizzard’s choices for the skins.
Blizzard released early concept art to show they’ve had these ideas for each skin for a while.
Yet, many Persona 5 fans are frustrated that D.Va was given a Queen skin when Futaba would have been a perfect fit.
Futaba is also a big gamer and has a UFO-themed mech, which can fly. They’re very similar characters.
The skins are set to release today, September 16th, although exact times have not yet been confirmed.
Prices have not yet been confirmed either.
However, it’s likely that one skin will cost 2,800 Overwatch Coins (£23) and a bundle for all of them will cost 5,900 Overwatch Coins (£46).
That was the price point for Overwatch 2’s G.I. Joe and Gundam Wing 30th anniversary crossovers.
The game has had plenty of collaborations; Overwatch 2 added eight Street Fighter 6-themed skins earlier this year.
Potential future Overwatch 2 skin collaborations
Overwatch 2 loves to maximise its crossover potential by collaborating with video games, anime series, and even bands.
Earlier this year, some Overwatch 2 players allegedly received a survey asking what games and anime fans wanted to see crossover events with.
The survey included a huge list of potential collaborators, including the surprise inclusion of League of Legends.
The full list of potential collaborators mentioned were:
- Call of Duty
- Cyberpunk
- Devil May Cry
- Disney
- Dragon Ball
- Elden Ring
- Evangelion
- Futurama
- God of War
- Godzilla
- Hello Kitty
- Jujutsu Kaisen
- Kingdom Hearts
- League of Legends
- Metal Gear
- Monster Hunter
- Nier: Automata
- Skyrim
- Star Trek
- Street Fighter
- Sword Art Online
- The Witcher
- Tomb Raider
- Yu-Gi-Oh
There are some fascinating choices on there.
Particularly Disney, though they likely wouldn’t want to collaborate with a game that features shooting.
Plus, Disney owns Marvel and that includes the game Marvel Rivals so, if anything, Overwatch 2 is a huge competitor to them.
