Team Vitality have been shockingly eliminated early from the Rocket League Championship Series 2025 – World Championships.
The all-French roster were knocked out in front of a home crowd in the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.
Vitality are former World Champions and were favoured on Rocket League betting sites to do well in this year’s event.
Especially with two of last year’s World Champions, Evan ‘M0nkey M00n’ Rogez and Brice ‘ExoTiiK’ Bigeard, and one of Rocket League’s greatest ever pros in Alexis ‘zen’ Bernier.
However, their season was brought to an end after Ninjas in Pyjamas defeated them in the Lower Bracket semifinal.

Up until this point, it had been a very challenging season for NiP.
The organisation had failed to qualify for a single Rocket League LAN event this year, failing to finish higher than 5th in Europe.
However, NiP qualified for the RLCS World Championships through the Last Chance Qualifier, defeating Team BDS in the final.
They defeated TSM and Virtus.Pro in the Play-In before pushing NRG to a close series.
Now, NiP are heading into the Playoffs after defeating Team Vitality 3-1.

One of NiP’s stars in the series was Andrea ‘Radosin’ Radovanović, who only joined the team back in July.
He had won the World Championships with Zen and Vitality back in 2023 and immediately rushed over to comfort his former teammate.

Meanwhile, Vitality didn’t reach the final of any big tournament this year.
Their best finish was a 4th place finish at the Esports World Cup after losing 4-3 to Team Falcons.
This is the first time M0nkey M00n has failed to reach a World Championship final in the open era.
The Frenchman had competed in the previous three RLCS World Championship finals and won the trophy twice.

This wasn’t the only surprising result the RLCS World Championships have provided so far, either.
Esports World Cup champions, KCorp, were favourites heading into this tournament.
However, they were handily defeated 3-1 by North America’s second seeds, The Ultimates.
Then, Raleigh Major runners-up Dignitas were swept 3-0 by the Australian team, Wildcards.
Europe’s top two seeds have had to battle their way through the Lower Bracket.
Dignitas have been eliminated too, losing a close series with Geekay Esports 3-2.
Meanwhile, KCorp will have to battle with FURIA for a spot in the playoffs.
