Love is Blind star Kieran Holmes-Darby talks about keeping marriage to Megan secret
Los Ratones general manager and Love is Blind superstar Kieran Holmes-Darby has revealed more following the end of the show.
The UK esports scene was very excited when Kieran was revealed as a Love is Blind UK contestant.
And it couldn’t have gone better as Kieran met Megan through the show and married her.
The reunion episode revealed that Kieran and Meg were the couple of the series, as they are still happily together.
As a result, Kieran has exploded in fame with over 100k followers on Instagram.
Now, the esports entrepreneur has answered questions from fans while visiting X’s UK offices.
Love is Blind Kieran is grateful for a year out of the limelight
Love is Blind season aired over a year after the show was filmed, which is something Kieran is glad happened.
“I’m very grateful for the year of living and hiding with Meg.
“I think it just gave us a year to be a normal couple, not be in the public eye, solidify our relationship, all of those good things.
“So, I’m actually very grateful for that year, but it was weird introducing her as my girlfriend and not being able to tell people that story.”
Kieran has had Meg try League of Legends
Most gamers will tell you that playing League of Legends, the main game of Kieran’s career, is a mistake.
The game is very difficult and consequently addictive to those who bother to truly learn it.
Fortunately, Meg has seemingly avoided that trap despite Kieran’s best attempts.
“Megan has actually played League of Legends because I took her to the Arcane pop-up that happened in London,” Kieran revealed.
“It was actually as a birthday present that we went to the Arcane pop-up, and I made her play a game of League of Legends.
“She was absolutely awful, and I don’t think we’ll get her on the Rift again any time soon.”
Kieran isn’t so good at League of Legends himself
While Kieran was jokingly critical of Meg’s LoL skills, he’s also not as good as he used to be.
Answering a LoL-related question from Kieran’s former colleague at Excel Esports, Dave Harris, Kieran admitted:
“I have to be honest, I don’t know if it’s better to build Sundered Sky or Eclipse on Jarvan right now.
“I haven’t played that much League of Legends recently and, if I do, I just play Xin Zhao because it’s easier and I can just roll my face across the keyboard and still do ok.
“Can’t be doing the EQ flash with Jarvan at the moment, I haven’t got the mechanics down right now.”
Still, working for Los Ratones, he surely can learn from some of the best players around.
The team, founded by streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, are heavy favourites on LoL betting sites to win the upcoming EMEA Masters Summer finals.
Kieran reacts to being in the public eye after Love is Blind UK
Due to his rise in fame, Kieran has suddenly been thrust into the limelight.
Asked about how he and Meg feel about being recognised on the street, Kieran admitted they’re still getting used to it:
“It’s strange, being in the public eye.
“I’ve done a few things from my entrepreneur days, like being in front of the camera, but never had this level of publicity.
“Like getting recognised in the street. I just got recognised out in front of this office, very weird experience.
“They feel like they know you, which they kind of do, to be honest. If you’ve watched Love is Blind, you do know quite a bit about my life.
“But obviously I don’t know them.
“It’s a weird experience, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to people stopping me on the street, but it’s all love, everyone is super positive and nice and supportive.”
Kieran reveals Love is Blind Pokémon easter egg
Esports News UK creator Dom Sacco asked Kieran about the Pokémon card he had displayed in his room during the show.
Kieran revealed it was from his trip to Japan: “The Pokémon card you see on Love Is Blind when they go around my room is a Garchomp.
It’s not necessarily my favourite Pokémon or anything, it’s just the one shiny from the Pokémon card pack that I bought when I was in Japan in Tokyo.
On the show, Kieran gave Meg a gift from something else he bought on that Japan trip, while spraying it with his aftershave.
