Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard joined Esports News UK following FaZe’s loss to G2 in BLAST Open London.

The Norwegian reflected on the loss, but had positive things to say regarding the roster’s progress after the addition of Jakub ‘jcobbb’ Pietruszewski.

Post-Match interview with FaZe’s rain at BLAST Open London

Your reflections on the match?

It was a tough game overall. Inferno, we didn’t really stand much of a chance. I think it was some nerves, some anxiousness coming into the game. It was a little rough on Inferno.

I think on Dust II, we should have closed it out, we had our chances. We also had a really strong CT-side in the beginning, and we kind of fell apart a little bit.

A disappointing result, but overall, how would you assess the tournament, including the online portion?

Overall, it’s progress, right? It feels a little better on the server with Jakub [jcobbb], and we’re all kind of more of like a unit in a way, so I see progress and I see a bright future.

When Esports News UK spoke to karrigan yesterday, he said that Jacob had a kind of similar mentality to you in terms of following orders and being a selfless team player. How do you think that’s benefiting the rest of the team?

For sure it is nice, of course, but I think when he gets more comfortable, he’s going to have ideas of his own, plays of his own.

I think right now he’s just trying to listen because there’s so much information in English and coming from a Polish team, so it’s hard for him to get all the things that he wants to do out there, but it is really nice and beneficial for all of us the way he’s playing now.

Do you think you’ll be seeing more FaZe in arenas for the rest of the year?

Well, let’s hope so. I see a bright future. I see happiness when we play.

We feel energised. I’m not going to take this loss too hard. It’s one week, if even, with Kuba [jcobbb], so not a lot of practice and our playbook is not very deep at the moment.
