Teams confirmed for first-ever League of Legends Game Changers Rising

The final eight teams have been confirmed for the inaugural League of Legends Game Changers Rising (LGC).

The tournament is Riot Games’ official women’s League of Legends tournament for EMEA.

It follows on from the success of the Game Changers events in Valorant, which are also only for women and anyone who identifies as a woman.

The Group Stages will take place between September 13th and 28th, before the Playoffs begin on October 13th with more online matches.

The LGC Rising Grand Final will then take place on stage at Paris Games Week on October 30th at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Paris Games Week will also see the EMEA Masters Summer Finals with Los Ratones confirmed to compete despite its controversial timing.

Qualification for LGC Rising was held in three stages. Firstly, Riot invited three teams that were affiliated with its LEC partners.

Next, the best-performing teams from the Equal Esports Cup tournament would also receive an invite.

And then, the two final places were claimed in online, open qualifiers.

Who is competing in League of Legends Game Changers Rising 2025?

The three LEC sister teams invited to LGC by Riot are G2 Hel, SK Avarosa, and Vitality Rising Bees.

Earlier this year, G2 Hel made history as the first women’s team to qualify to Tier 2 of LoL esports.

The roster qualified for Spain’s second tier and competed in Circuito Tormenta for a chance of promotion to Superliga.

G2 Hel also won the Equal Esports Cups recently, defeating the impressive Solary Academy 2-1 in the final.

Solary’s performance at that tournament earned them a place at LGC, as did Nexus Reapers and Galions Pearl.

The final two spots were then claimed by Eterna and Zerance Bloom in the Open Qualifier.

Zerance Bloom made it through with a 5-1 record, while Eterna qualified with a perfect 6-0 record.

Who is the favourite to win League of Legends Game Changers Rising 2025?

After winning the Equal Esports Cup and competing in Spain’s second tier, G2 Hel will be heavy favourites on LoL betting sites.

However, Solary’s performance at the Equal Esports Cup should not be ignored.

They defeated Vitality 2-0, and the final between themselves and G2 was only a best-of-three.

A best-of-five meeting between the two could go differently.

SK didn’t have the best tournament, having crashed out of the groups but the organisation won the Equal Esports Cup in 2023.

Led by British coach Joshua ‘Jarge’ Smith, formerly of Fnatic, the team could certainly bounce back for LGC.
