Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont has confirmed Los Ratones won’t skip EMEA Masters Summer despite it clashing with League of Legends Worlds.
The UK-registered team just won the NLC for the third consecutive split, defeating Verdant 3-0 at Leagues Disrupt.
While that result was never in doubt, Los Ratones’ attendance at the upcoming EMEA Masters in Paris was.
There was a lot of controversy as it was revealed that the final will clash with the World Championship semi-finals.
Los Ratones won the NLC on August 30th, but the EMEA Masters final won’t be until November 2nd.

This made it a difficult decision for Caedrel, who brings in massive viewership when he co-streams LoL Worlds games.
There was talk that Caedrel and Los Ratones may skip EMEA Masters to bootcamp with teams at Worlds.
However, the British content creator has now confirmed in an Instagram post that Los Ratones will attend, saying:
“We made it! Three splits, three trophies. A lot of work went in from everyone all year long, so it’s great that all of it paid off.
“Now, up next is EMEA Masters, where we have decided to compete to try to achieve the first-ever Golden Road in Tier-2 League.”
The ‘Golden Road’ is the idea that a LoL team wins every tournament available to them in one year.
Remarkably, this has never been done before at the top level. SKT T1 lost the MSI final in 2015, and G2 Esports lost the Worlds final in 2019.
And it hasn’t been done in Tier-2 either, with fans dubbing it the ‘Silver Road’ or ‘Golden Alley’ instead.
Karmine Corp won three consecutive EMEA Masters (across two years) but were only LFL champions once during that streak.
It would be a remarkable achievement for Los Ratones, and LoL betting sites will fancy them to succeed.
What is next for Los Ratones?
The future of Los Ratones is up in the air as Caedrel decides what direction to take the team.
In the post-NLC Instagram post, Caedrel admitted: “I have no clue where Los Ratones will go.”
The streamer says he wants the team to “push boundaries” rather than repeat what they did this year.
With the roster’s popularity, Riot and fans alike likely would love to see Los Ratones promoted into the LEC.
However, Caedrel insists Los Ratones won’t pay the €20m LEC entry fee.
There is the possibility that Los Ratones could change region for a fresh start, perhaps they’ll travel publicly scrimming teams without competing.
Otherwise, Caedrel may have to get permission from Riot to host his own events.
For now, he says his Los Ratones plans have been met with “endless barriers.”
