Porsche launches third season of Esports Sprint Challenge GB

Porsche has launched the third season of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB, an entry-level competition for aspiring professional sim racers.

The competition, in collaboration with Motorsport UK Esports, will see participants compete for a chance to win a driving experience day at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

Whoever wins the prize will drive Porsche 911 and 718 Cayman Models.

Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB format

The Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB begins on Tuesday, September 23rd, and will run for five weeks.

Held on Tuesday evenings, the 2025 season begins with a race at a digital Donington Park circuit, before races at Thruxton, Silverstone, Oulton Park International, and finally, Brands Hatch on October 21st.

Drivers will be divided into Pro and Am categories, competing across 10 races on the iRacing platform using the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup or Gayman GT4 Clubsport MR. Champions of each category will win the driving experience day at Silverstone.

Each event features a one-hour practice, a 10-minute qualifying session, and two 30-minute races.

The top three Pro category drivers will earn automatic qualification for the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup. This would mark a significant step towards venturing into professional sim racing.

In the Am category, the top three drivers will be promoted to the Pro Category for the next season of the Esports Sprint Challenge GB.

To participate, drivers must register via the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge landing page and hold a Motorsport UK Esports membership. Those previously qualified for Porsche’s other official iRacing series are ineligible to compete.

Races will be streamed live on Porsche’s official Twitch channel and Race Spot TV’s YouTube channel. There will be post-race stewarding to ensure fair competition.

Porsche’s presence in UK sim racing

Porsche continues to expand its presence in sim racing as shown by the launch of the third season of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB.

In May 2022, the company partnered with Coanda Esports to form the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team.

The team recently achieved fourth place at the Rennsport R1 competition during the Esports World Cup. This secured the team a £29,685 prize ($40,000).

Earlier this year, Porsche opened the Porsche Esports Performance Centre in Cologne, Germany, offering a state-of-the-art sim racing facility.

Porsche also collaborated with prominent esports organisations like FaZe Clan and the Overwatch Championship Series. This has reinforced their commitment to the growing esports landscape.
