2XKO beta will feature accidentally leaked champion Blitzcrank

Riot Games has accidentally leaked that Blitzcrank will be the next champion in 2XKO.

Eagled-eye fans noticed the giant steam golem appeared on the 2XKO cover on Riot’s support page.

Now, it has been confirmed that he is indeed coming to the League of Legends-based fighter as the game’s ninth champion.

Also, Riot has revealed that Blitzcrank will be playable in the upcoming closed beta.

Blitzcrank was supposed to be unveiled next week. His full reveal will still take place on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Until then, we won’t see the robot in action and can only theorise on how his kit will work.

For now, it’s expected that he will be a heavy grappler.

Especially as his signature move from LoL, a long-range grab that pulls in the opponent, will surely feature.

It could work, perhaps similar to Scorpion’s grappling hook from Mortal Kombat, which can be crouched to dodge.

Another key part of Blitzcrank’s kit in LoL is his ability to knock enemies into the air, so expect plenty of disruption.

Blitzcrank’s new design for the fighting game looks excellent, with blue glows that better showcase his Hextech-powered origins.

And in addition to Blitzcrank joining the roster, Riot also announced that replays are coming to 2XKO – a feature that Valorant fans are still waiting for patiently.

Everything you need to know about the 2XKO closed beta

The next closed beta to give players a chance to try 2XKO is starting on September 9th.

This beta will be available globally, but released in North and South America first at around 11am PT (7pm BST).

However, console players will have to wait a little longer as this beta will be exclusive to PC.

Though most controllers and flightsticks can be used as long as they connect to the player’s computer.

Any players who played in Alpha Lab 1 and/or 2 will automatically be invited, while many others will also be sent codes.

And those who have beta codes, will be able to invite up to three friends to receive codes too and be able to play together.

This new closed beta will have a lot of new content and changes, including every 2XKO stage announced so far.

Every announced champion will also be playable, with Blitcrank joining the likes of Vi, Yasuo, and Ahri.

According to Riot, this is the beginning of 2XKO’s full rollout. Meaning that the official 2XKO release date might not be too far away.
