The next expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket has been revealed with the Secluded Springs set.
This set had accidentally been leaked when it was published early on the Korean Pokémon YouTube channel.
Now the English trailer has confirmed some of the new cards that are coming to the game on August 28th.
Hopefully, this expansion releases without any drama with stolen art in Pokémon Pocket.
The upcoming booster pack is headlined by the three legendary beasts: Suicune, Raikou, and Entei.
Each one is getting an EX card with the same ability, which, at the end of your turn will draw a card if it’s in the active spot.
This means even more card draw is coming to the game, helping water, electric, and fire catch up to psychic’s Sylveon.
Suicune EX has a particularly unique attack. For two energy, it deals 20 damage for each Pokémon on both players’ benches.
And judging by the other cards revealed, it seems that water types are going to be the big winners from this expansion.
Water types had previously dominated the meta but have fallen off since the release of more cards.
However, the new Mantyke card could be exactly what the archetype needed in Pokémon Pocket.
The baby Pokémon will put a water energy onto a Pokémon for zero energy, even on turn one.
This will be crucial for ramping onto water’s heavy hitters without relying on the randomness of Misty.
However, this could also be a major win for dragon cards like Dragonite and Garchomp.
The issue with these cards was their reliance on dual energies, but Mantyke will make them much more consistent.
Secluded Springs is also bringing Latias and Latios to Pokémon Pocket.
The duo help each other when they’re both on the board, but on first impressions these cards look quite weak.
Mega evolutions are coming to Pokémon Pocket
While Secluded Seas comes out next week, many Pokémon Pocket fans are still awaiting the Mega Evolution update.
Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company revealed that the new type of card is coming to the game.
And we now know when, thanks to the Pokémon Pocket Mega Evolution release date leak.
Mega Evolution cards will be even more powerful than EX Pokémon.
However, that comes at the price of awarding three points when taken down, immediately ending the game.
Judging by data miners discovering this will be expansion B1, this could be the biggest Pokémon Pocket update yet.
