We’re just a little over a month away from the official release of EA Sports FC 26.
With the new football season kicking off across Europe, lots of newly promoted teams have been in action.
It’s the perfect time to scout out interesting underdog teams to use for your next Career Mode.
Thanks to the EA FC 26 closed beta, there have so far been 19 new teams confirmed.
And that could increase by way more if the EA FC 26 licensed World Cup mode rumours are true.
To help prepare you EA FC 26 Career Mode, here are all the new teams in the game and their inspiring stories.

- Oldham Athletic
- Barnet FC
The English leagues are a favourite of Career Mode fans, with the ability to climb through four divisions to the Premier League.
This year, EA FC 26 players are spoilt for choice with options for their ‘Road to Glory’ attempts.
This is the first time Barnet have been in an EA FC game since their last stint in League Two came in 2018.
Oldham Athletic are also a team with great history, having been one of the founding teams of the Premier League in the 90s.

- FC Andorra
- Cultural Leonesa
There are also some very fun Career Mode options in Spain.
Cultural Leonesa were crowned champions in order to return to the second division for the first time in eight years.
But the real highlight here is FC Andorra, a team with a ton of story potential.
Andorra is the only foreign-based team competing in Spanish professional football, they recently travelled 2210 kilometres for an away day at Las Palmas.
And they are owned by former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué, who earlier this year threatened the Andorra government to further fund the team.

- Pescara Calcio
- Calcio Padova
Football Manager fans will know how hard it is to get promoted from Serie C with its three divisions and multi-round playoffs.
Pescara managed to win those playoffs on penalties thanks to captain and goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzari, who could barely walk in Extra Time.
They also have a fantastic badge with a dolphin on it, which many Ultimate Team players might enjoy.
Meanwhile, as you can see in the tweet above, Calcio Padova have quite some style.
It’s no surpirse then that Alessandro Del Piero began his career with the traditional club.

🇩🇪 MSV Duisburg were playing Bundesliga football back in 2008 and even made the DFB Pokal final in 2011.

Last season, they were in the 4th tier for the first time since before 1963. However, they won promotion and after two games and two wins sit TOP of the 3 Liga this term! pic.twitter.com/aULgBOjrqE
- MSV Duisburg
- 1. FC Schweinfurt 05
With three divisions, Germany is an underrated option for Road to Glory Career Modes.
Schweinfurt are a great underdog option most betting sites would write off, considering they’ve been below the third division since 2005.
Meanwhile, Duisburg are sleeping giants who should make for a very fun Career Mode in EA FC 26.
The former Bundesliga and DFB Pokal finalists look set for consecutive promotions, a bit like Wrexham.

- Neom SC (Saudi Pro League)
- SC Telstar (Eredivisie)
- FC Alverca (Liga Portugal)
- Östers IF (Allsvenskan)
- Kocaelispor (Super Lig)
- Genclerbirligi (Super Lig)

And there are a ton of other great options across multiple leagues in EA FC.
As you can see in the tweet above, Telstar just returned to the Eredivisie for the first time in 47 years.
The Dutch club also has a phenomenal third kit which will hopefully feature in the game.

Wow! That’s what you call a pattern!

In the MLS, San Diego have a very rich owner in British entrepreneur Mohamed Mansour.
The club has shown immense grit this season, earning six consecutive away wins.
And finally, an excellent Career Mode option is Alverca, who are owned by Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
The team has already fielded one of the youngest starting XIs in Europe with an average age of 20.8.
A lot of their players will have a lot of potential and room for growth, making them a great Career Mode choice.
And there could be even more options with a rumoured new league coming to EA FC 26.
