Rainbow 6 Siege X at EWC 2025 has its playoff bracket set following a hugely dramatic group stage. The group stage saw favourites struggling or eliminated, with Falcons and FaZe falling by the wayside in the unforgiving format where upper-bracket Best of 1s gave way to lower-bracket Best of 3s.
The quarter finals of the Rainbow 6 Siege X tournament at EWC are:
NiP vs G2
Virtus.pro vs Furia
Shopify Rebellion vs Spacestation Gaming
Team Secret vs Weibo Gaming
The Best of 3 quarter-final contests will take place August 7, ultimately leading to the Best of 5 Grand Final Aug 9. There will also be a third-place decider for the losing semi-finalists.
Rainbow 6 Siege x EWC: Falcons crash and burn
Team Falcons, one of the favourites with esports betting sites, were unceremoniously dumped out of the competition on the first day, 6-8 vs Team Secret and then 0-2 vs huge underdogs Spacestation in the Best of 3.
The French roster, with British player Josh ‘Yuzus’ Pritchard, transferred to Falcons from BDS having won the event at EWC 2024, and the Gamers8 titles that preceded it, with the organisation aiming to equal that feat in 2025. However, the roster were left shellshocked after the overtime loss 7-8 to Spacestation in the second game to lose 0-2 to SSG.
“The Falcons burn up in the atmosphere as Spacestation Gaming win it in 2-0 fashion. I can’t believe my d*mn eyes!” was the call from the casters as the shock set in.
Furia survive by the skin of their teeth
Furia were stunned on day one as they fell 7-3 in a frankly uncompetitive match against Oxygen Esports. OXG looked sharp, with Furia looking completely out of sorts. Normality seemed to restore itself as Furia comfortably dispatched Enterprise, but their contest against w7m was anything but.
Furia faced five rounds that would have meant elimination against w7m esports. Trailing 2-6, the Brazilians brought it back to overtime, eventually winning the game 8-7 and the series 2-1.
The Brazilian roster were favourites in the group stage but their shaky form has given hope to other rosters that it might be their time to shine.
Team Secret and Shopify Rebellion are the only teams to make it through groups with a spotless record, with Team Secret only dropping eight rounds in total.
Despite that, there is a decent amount of buzz around the G2 roster Shopify Rebellion defeated. The MENA representatives dispatched FaZe in 7-4, 7-2 fashion, meaning they go into playoffs in strong form.
