Marvel Rivals Ignite 2025: Mid Season Finals – Teams, Format, Prize pool

Marvel Rivals Ignite esports event announced

Marvel Rivals Ignite 2025 Mid Season Finals’ Play-ins have now been settled, meaning we know every team competing in the main stage of the event.

Third Americas seed, ENVY, and second EMEA seed, Rad EU, have qualified for the main stage following the Play-in section of the event, eliminating Nova Esports and one of the esports betting sites favourites Gen.G in the process.

Gen.G fell to ENVY in the first round 2-0 before falling to the same scoreline against Nova Esports in the lower-bracket. Despite providing the upset, Nova Esports couldn’t repeat the feat against Rad EU, losing 2-0 also. In fact, no Play-In match went to a third map.

Yet the competition is only ramping up, with Sentinels (Americas), Reject (Asia), Citadel Gaming (EMEA), OUG (China), Ground Zero Gaming (Oceania) representing the top seeds of their respective regions. 100T also enter the competition in the main stage. Despite only being the Americas’ second seed, the roster is highly fancied and features Britain’s Harvey ‘hxrvey’ Scattergood.

Upper-bracket first round bracket (Aug 7):

03:30 (BST): Citadel Gaming v ENVY
06:00: Sentinels v Rad EU
08:30: OUG v 100 Thieves
11:00: Reject vs Ground Zero Gaming

Marvel Rivals Ignite 2025: Mid Season Finals – Format and Prize Money

Prize Pool: $500,000
1st Place: £160,000

The first Marvel Rivals international comes with a $500,000 prize pool, with 1st place clinching a $160,000 prize. The eliminated teams, Gen.G and Nova Esports, have already claimed $20,000.

The healthy distribution for lower-ranked teams emphasises the achievement of qualifying for the event, but also might be a strategic incentive for organisations to invest in the scene, as they can guarantee some level of return even if individual events don’t go their way.

The tournament’s main stage features a double-elimination bracket, with three upper-bracket rounds and four lower-bracket rounds leading to the Grand Final, where Marvel Rivals’ first international champion will be crowned.

Marvel Rivals Ignite 2025: Mid Season Final talent

Marvel Rivals talent includes three Brits, with host Christopher ‘Techer’ Ivermee, Vicki ‘Gottmoxi’ Johnson, and Harry ‘LEGDAY’ Pollitt all taking part in the broadcast as host, caster, and analysts respectively.

The majority of Marvel Rivals talent is, as expected, veterans of the Overwatch scene, which shares much of its gameplay DNA with Marvel’s new hero shooter. Though the third-person twist makes for a little bit of a different flavour to the esports, with casters often getting a broader view of the action.
